Today (November 30), the Vietnamese team had a training session to strengthen their physical strength and practice more tactics. In this training session, the team had the return of defender Bui Hoang Anh Viet Anh after receiving treatment to recover from a recurring knee injury. However, Tuan Hai had to stay at the hotel for physical therapy because he had not fully recovered from a hip injury before joining the team.
At the training session, midfielder Le Pham Thanh Long said that in the past few days, coach Kim Sang-sik has tried to convey to the whole team the philosophy of play, encouraging the whole team to push high intensity, play close and adhere to tactical discipline.
"Coach Kim Sang-sik wants the team to play faster, not giving the opponent time to approach and to play more freely. Through each match, we try to observe better and integrate sooner with the playing style set by the head coach," said Le Pham Thanh Long.
After completing the training session in Korea, coach Kim Sang-sik will select 26 players for the journey to the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship (AFF Cup - new name is ASEAN Cup 2024).
Talking about the opportunity to compete for a position in the Vietnamese team, Jackie Chan said: "In my opinion, the opportunity is divided equally for everyone. Everyone tries to practice and show their best ability.
The important thing is how the head coach chooses players to suit the team's playing style. Football now focuses on physical strength, and personally, I feel that I am at a disadvantage in terms of physique, so I need to try to compensate with physical strength to be more agile in the competition."
Tomorrow (December 1), the Vietnamese team will play a practice match with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motor Club from the Korean National Championship (K.League 1). This is also the team's last practice match during the training session in Korea and the opponent is considered the strongest among the three "blue teams" of coach Kim Sang-sik and his team.
To help the players relax after stressful training hours, the Vietnamese team visited the ancient Bulguksa Temple (Buddhism Temple), one of the most famous and oldest temples in Korea on the afternoon of November 30.
The tour is part of the Vietnamese team's training activities in Gyeongju, helping the players to admire the beautiful scenery here, have time to rest, recharge and increase solidarity.
