The Vietnam Football Federation confirmed that My Dinh National Stadium will be the home stadium of the Vietnamese national team at the ASEAN Cup 2026. This is also the first time in nearly 2 years that coach Kim Sang-sik's team has played on the familiar stadium of Vietnamese football.
The Vietnamese team will begin their journey to defend the championship with a away match against Timor Leste on July 24. After that, the team will return to My Dinh to host Singapore on July 31 and Cambodia on July 7. Interspersed between the two home matches is the away match against Indonesia.
My Dinh's return to organizing international matches marks the completion of the renovation process that lasted from the end of 2025. After the end of many cultural and entertainment events, the sports industry was invested about 8 billion VND to upgrade the grass and infrastructure from September last year.

The entire old grass layer has been replaced with new grass, the field foundation has been re-treated with a depth of 40 to 50 cm to ensure the quality of competition. The automatic irrigation system has also been upgraded to maintain the standard field surface for a long time.
During the time My Dinh closed for repairs, the Vietnamese team had to choose many other locations to organize home matches. Viet Tri (Phu Tho) became a familiar destination when organizing home matches at ASEAN Cup 2024, while Go Dau stadium (HCMC) was also used in some international friendly matches.
The return of the Vietnamese team to My Dinh Stadium is expected to bring a more exciting atmosphere when the team enters the ASEAN Cup 2026 campaign. This is also an opportunity for Hanoi fans to continue to accompany the national team.
