At the invitation of the Chinese Football Association (CFA), the U16 Vietnam team will participate in the 2025 U16 International Football Tournament, taking place from May 26 to June 1.
According to information from the CFA, the tournament will gather 4 youth teams including U16 Vietnam, U16 Australia, U16 Saudi Arabia and the host team U16 China. The main purpose of the tournament is to create opportunities for competition and rubbish for the players to prepare for the 2026 U17 Asian Qualifiers starting in November.
To prepare for this tournament, the U16 Vietnam team is expected to gather in mid-May in Hanoi. The team will have about two weeks of training before leaving for China to participate in the tournament.
Regarding the force, the team selects players born in 2009 or later. This is also a group of players with many names that have been given the opportunity to focus and train with the U17 Vietnam team in the preparation period for the 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals.
There are 2 names on the final list of finalists, the midfielder duo Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc and Nguyen Van Duong. Midfielder Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc started all three matches in the 2025 U17 Asian Cup group stage. Nguyen Van Duong was put on the field in the 79th minute of the 1-1 draw with U17 Japan.
