On the evening of April 22, U17 Vietnam won the right to enter the final of U17 Southeast Asia 2026 after a 2-1 victory over U17 Australia in the semi-final 2.
The match took place with an unfavorable game when coach Roland's team soon fell into a lead from the 10th minute. However, the young players maintained their organization and did not let the opponent create any more space.
The turning point came in injury time of the first half when Dai Nhan brought home a penalty. Although he could not take advantage of the opportunity from the 11m spot, in the situation where the ball bounced out, Manh Cuong kịp đánh đầu đưa the match back to 1-1 balance.

In the remaining semi-final, U17 Malaysia defeated U17 Laos with a score of 3-0. Laos soon encountered disadvantage when receiving a red card right from the 5th minute, causing the match situation to lean towards the opponent.
Thus, U17 Vietnam will meet U17 Malaysia again in the U17 Southeast Asian final 2026. Previously, Sy Bach and his teammates defeated this opponent 4-0 in the opening match of the group stage.
The final match will take place at 7:30 PM on April 24.
