On February 26, the National Election Council organized a national online conference to assess the situation of deploying the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
Reporting at the Conference, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Lam Thi Phuong Thanh said that the Ministry was assigned to preside over 7 tasks and coordinate with relevant departments, ministries, and sectors to implement 3 tasks.
Based on its functions and tasks, the Ministry has issued documents and guiding plans for implementation.
Regarding some key results in information and propaganda work, the Deputy Minister said that the Ministry has directed the entire sector, guiding press agencies and localities to organize good information and propaganda activities, visual propaganda, cultural and sports activities to celebrate the Party Congress associated with propaganda about the election.
The Ministry has also promptly oriented the content and strictly managed propaganda activities; closely followed the content of the election and according to the schedule.
Accordingly, propaganda about the meaning, role, and importance of the election; the Party's guidelines, leadership and direction viewpoints, policies and laws of the State on the election; standards, structure, number of delegates, results of the organization of the Consultative Conferences; list of candidates.
Regarding some key tasks in the coming time, Standing Deputy Minister Lam Thi Phuong Thanh said that the Ministry will continue to focus on directing and orienting propaganda work to be strong and closely following the requirements of the election.
Propagate the atmosphere of excitement, confidence, and optimism of voters nationwide to consciously participate in voting as well as patriotic emulation movements from the Central to the grassroots level.
Coordinate with departments, ministries, branches, and localities to organize cultural and artistic activities praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the country and people of Vietnam towards propaganda about the election.
Propagating the successful results of the election, affirming the spirit of solidarity, unity, and efforts of the entire Party, people and army; activities to celebrate the success of the election; the First Session, the 16th National Assembly, the First Session of People's Councils at all levels. Organizing a mobile propaganda festival to celebrate the success of the 14th Party Congress and the election.
At the same time, propagating the atmosphere of excitement, confidence, and optimism of voters nationwide to voluntarily participate in the election; fighting and refuting false and distorted information before and during the election, especially in cyberspace, continuing to affirm that the election will be democratic, equal, lawful, safe, and economical.
Organize a mobile propaganda festival to celebrate the success of the 14th Party Congress and the election in April 2026.
