On the evening of December 22, coach Kim Sang-sik announced the list of the U23 Vietnam team preparing for the 2026 U23 Asian Cup.
Accordingly, the Korean coach has called up additional defenders Le Van Ha (Hanoi FC) and striker Bui Vi Hao (Becamex HCMC). Both are regular participants in recent training sessions and have been highly appreciated by the coaching staff for their ability to integrate, meeting professional requirements as well as the philosophy of playing style.
According to the plan, U23 Vietnam will gather again tomorrow (December 21) and practice for the next 3 days. On December 26, Mr. Kim Sang-sik's team will move to Qatar for training.
During this time, U23 Vietnam is expected to play a friendly match with U23 Syria, thereby helping the coaching staff evaluate the players' abilities and make appropriate adjustments. The training trip also focuses on improving physical fitness, perfecting tactical pieces and reviewing personnel.
At the end of the training session, U23 Vietnam will leave for Saudi Arabia on January 1, 2026 to participate in the U23 Asian finals.
In this tournament, U23 Vietnam will face U23 Jordan on January 6, 2026, facing U23 Kyrgyzstan on January 9, 2026, before concluding the group stage with a match with host U23 Saudi Arabia on January 12, 2026.
