The U23 Vietnam team has arrived in Indonesia to prepare for the 2025 U23 Southeast Asian Championship. In the first training session, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team had an accident when they were stuck for nearly 50 minutes on a road of only 5km from the hotel to the training ground.
Traffic congestion during rush hour in the Indonesian capital is not new. However, for a team that has just traveled a long way, this is the first non-professional challenge that Vietnamese players have to face.
However, when entering the field, U23 Vietnam quickly regained their focus. The training session is mainly about recovery, getting used to the weather and the pitch. The temperature ranges from 24-32 degrees Celsius in Jakarta is quite pleasant, creating favorable conditions for the process of heating up the tendons after a long flight.

Coach Kim Sang-sik took the opportunity to practice some more tactical movements, organize the attack and defense teams, creating a foundation for more in-depth professional training sessions in the following days.
According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will face U23 Laos on July 19, then face U23 Cambodia on July 22.
This morning (September 15), team leader Nguyen Anh Tuan and some members of the coaching staff attended a technical meeting before the tournament. Head coach Kim Sang-sik will attend an official press conference before the group stage of the 2025 U23 Southeast Asian Championship.
