The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a Decision to administratively sanction Ms. Nguyen Hoang Linh (MC Hoang Linh) for violations in advertising activities.
Accordingly, MC Hoang Linh advertised the nutritional product HIUP 27, causing confusion about the product's uses.
MC Hoang Linh also advertised HIUP 27 nutritional products that were not in accordance with one of the documents prescribed in the Certificate of Receipt of Registration of Product Declaration and Advertisement of HIUP 27 nutritional products using the name of Dr. Nguyen Hoang Linh (MC Hoang Linh).
The form of administrative penalty for MC Hoang Linh is a fine with a total fine of 107.5 million VND.
MC Hoang Linh was also subject to remedial measures for committing the above acts, which are forcing him to remove, delete advertisements and forcing him to correct information.
Previously, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information issued 2 decisions to administratively sanction BTV Quang Minh and MC Van Hugo for violations in advertising activities. The total fine that BTV Quang Minh must pay is 37.5 million VND, while MC Van Hugo was fined 70 million VND.
Currently, there is a situation where KOLs (celebrity people), including many people who are editors, journalists or collaborators, often appear on radio and television to receive advertisements for food and health protection foods and violate the provisions of the law on advertising (advertising is incorrect or causes confusion about the quality, price, uses... of registered or published goods and services...).
The reason is that advertisers lack basic knowledge about advertising for products and services, especially food, medicine, medical examination and treatment services that directly affect human health and life or do not carefully research the products they advertise.
The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information recommends that advertisers should carefully research the product, check the ingredients, utilities, and documents related to the product, and be responsible to the community, avoid advertising exaggeratedly and using the product, regardless to achieve profits and sales.
