On June 17, Mr. Do Duc Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union (ĐLVN) as head of the delegation visited and encouraged union members and workers of Hanoi Power Transmission who are performing operation duties, ensuring safe and continuous power supply during the hot season of 2026.
Participating in the working delegation were Mr. Nguyen Huy Thang - Chairman of the Trade Union of the National Power Transmission Corporation; Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Power Transmission Company 1 and leaders of affiliated units.
Reporting at the working session, Mr. To The Cuong - Head of Hanoi Power Transmission said that in the hot days of 2026, the unit has synchronously deployed a plan to supply electricity during the hot season with the spirit of proactiveness in materials, vehicles, and personnel; strictly complying with technical procedures and safety; maintaining 100% of safe operation shifts; promptly handling equipment defects, preventing incidents due to subjective causes. Thanks to that, the power grid system in Hanoi is operating stably, safely, and continuously.
The unit currently manages the area where the Olympic Sports Urban Area Project is under construction, related to 3 500kV power lines that need to be moved. The Company has strengthened forces to inspect and supervise the construction process of relevant units, ensuring absolute safety, and preventing incidents affecting the operation of the power system.
Also at the working session, Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Power Transmission Company 1 said that the 500kV circuit 3 power line has played a particularly important role in ensuring power supply for the North. Previously, the capacity to transmit power from the Central region to the North through circuit 1 and circuit 2 systems was only about 2,500MW. After circuit 3 went into operation, inter-regional transmission capacity was increased to about 5,000MW, making an important contribution to ensuring power supply during peak heat waves.
Especially, during the peak period of 2025 and the last days of May 2026, when the load capacity of the North reached a record level of nearly 30,000MW, the power transmission through circuit 3 effectively supported the optimal operation of the power system, contributing to ensuring safe and continuous power supply. It can be affirmed that the 500kV circuit 3 power line is a project of particular importance to energy security in the Northern region in extreme weather conditions.
Speaking at the working session, Mr. Do Duc Hung - Chairman of the EVN Trade Union acknowledged and praised the spirit of responsibility and efforts to overcome difficulties of officials, employees, and workers of Hanoi Power Transmission in harsh weather conditions and high electricity demand.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union emphasized that the silent contributions of the operating force are of great significance in ensuring the safe operation of the national power system, meeting the electricity demand for socio-economic development and people's lives. At the same time, he requested units to continue to pay attention to training high-quality human resources, improving professional qualifications, researching programs to train transmission experts to meet ASEAN standards; promoting the application of science and technology, scientific and technological research, researching one-way power transmission systems to stabilize the system...
The Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union also requested the unit to continue to take care of health, working conditions, and ensure safety for workers during peak hot weather; affirming that the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union will always accompany, care for, and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
On this occasion, at the scene, the Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union presented gifts to 2 units with a total amount of more than 42 million VND to support and care for union members and workers during the hot season of 2026.
