Method of gathering and promoting the spirit of dedication of workers
During peak periods of construction of key power source and grid projects, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has coordinated to launch linked emulation movements, "sprint" and "peak" emulation, maintaining a vibrant labor atmosphere on construction sites. Typical is the emulation movement at the 500kV circuit 3 Quang Trach - Pho Noi Project, which is considered a bright spot, strongly spreading the spirit of overcoming difficulties, responsibility and determination of EVN's workers.
The "Creative Labor" movement continues to be promoted, in the period 2023 - 2025, thousands of initiatives have been applied in practice, bringing great benefits, especially in the fields of digital transformation, automation, optimal operation of the power system, contributing to improving EVN's productivity, efficiency and competitiveness. Through emulation movements, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has well performed the role of "connecting - leading - spreading" to emulation into a method of gathering and promoting the intelligence and dedication of workers throughout the Group.
Another important highlight of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union is the innovation of coordination methods between the Trade Union and professionals, in the direction of clear roles - clear tasks - clear responsibilities. The Trade Union does not stand outside the political and production and business tasks of the Group, but proactively launches and coordinates to organize emulation movements closely following specific goals, specific projects, specific products, creating spiritual motivation for workers.
In which, the emulation movement at the 500kV circuit 3 Power Line Project is a typical example of the ability to choose the focus at the right time, effectively mobilize forces, and spread the spirit of dedication and labor discipline of the Electricity Industry Trade Union organization.
The results of the movement have made an important contribution to Vietnam Electricity Group's excellent completion of the particularly important political tasks assigned by the Party and State, ensuring the progress, quality, and safety of the project - a national strategic energy project.

Exchanging experiences in organizing good emulation movements, especially emulation on key national projects, Mr. Do Duc Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union analyzed that emulation is not only an activity to encourage and motivate the movement but also an important driving force, an effective management and organization method to improve productivity and quality in all areas of social life.
For Vietnam Electricity Group, emulation is even more profound - that is the spirit of responsibility, commitment to ensuring safe, continuous, and stable power supply for the country - the core foundation of national energy security.
In the context of the country increasingly promoting industrialization and modernization, the requirements for electricity projects are increasingly high in terms of progress, quality, technique, economy and absolute safety.
Therefore, the emulation movement on key projects has become an important "lever" to transform the determination of political tasks into specific results, contributing to bringing projects to the finish line on schedule and ahead of schedule, while affirming the role of the Trade Union organization in accompanying professionals and workers.
In recent years, the Electricity sector has been assigned to simultaneously implement many projects of strategic significance for socio-economic development and ensuring national energy security. The most prominent and symbolic is the 500kV 3 series power line project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) - Pho Noi (Hung Yen).
This is the largest scale project in the history of the Electricity industry in terms of total length of the line, number of pile foundation positions, construction volume and complexity of terrain. The project has clearly depicted the image of Vietnamese electricians: Construction in harsh conditions, erratic weather; rugged mountainous terrain, many areas have to cross forests and streams; great progress pressure when having to complete in an unprecedented short time.
With tens of thousands of engineers and workers working simultaneously stretching from Quang Binh to Pho Noi (Hung Yen), working day and night, through holidays and Tet with familiar slogans on the construction site: "Only discuss doing, not discussing retreating"; "Eating quickly, sleeping urgently, constructing 3 shifts of 4 crews"; "Overcoming sun, winning rain, not losing to storms; working daytime is not enough, taking advantage of working nighttime". The result of bringing the project to the finish line ahead of schedule is not only a technical achievement but also a vivid proof of the strength of the patriotic emulation movement of the Electricity industry in the new era...
From the reality of organizing and implementing emulation movements, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union summarized 6 lessons learned in this field.
First, drastic leadership and direction is a decisive factor. The emulation movement is only effective when there is strong and synchronous involvement from Party committees, professional leaders to trade unions at all levels. Directing must be clear goals, clear roadmaps, and clear responsibilities.
Second, strengthen coordination with socio-political organizations. The emulation movement will be highly effective when there is synchronous coordination between Trade Unions, professionals and socio-political organizations, mass organizations. This is a factor in solving "bottlenecks" of many projects: site clearance, equipment transportation, security and order, force mobilization... this coordination will help shorten progress and remove difficulties right at the scene.
Third, emulation movements must be linked to specific and practical goals. Emulation movements will be truly effective when linked to specific goals.
Fourth, strong propaganda - rapid spread - creating action atmosphere. Communication plays an important role in helping the community understand the importance of projects and works, creating consensus and positive support from all social strata. It is necessary to promote timely propaganda about typical advanced examples, spreading the spirit of dedication and creativity of workers. In addition, honoring and rewarding programs need to be organized regularly and directly right at the construction site, in order to encourage the spirit and recognize the efforts to overcome difficulties of collectives and outstanding individuals, not only creating motivation for emulation but also promoting solidarity and responsibility in work.
Fifth, emulation must be associated with caring for the lives of workers. The spirit of emulation only truly spreads and is sustainable when workers feel real concern for working conditions, care for material and spiritual life, and recognize effort.
Sixth, commendation must be timely - the right person - the right job. At the end of each emulation period, it is necessary to organize a serious preliminary review and summary, correctly assess the results and promptly draw experience. The commendation and reward of typical collectives and individuals must be carried out promptly, rewarded directly at the construction site, rewarded at the right time, creating a strong spillover effect; have appropriate support policies for workers participating in construction at key projects, in remote and isolated areas, ensuring they are fully cared for to be assured of their contributions.
