On September 18, Mr. Trinh Mai Phuong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Vietnam Electricity Group, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, Head of the Corporate Culture and Communication Department of Vietnam Electricity Group; Do Duc Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union attended the summary of the Trade Union Shelter Housing Program for union members and workers in the period 2016 - 2026.
At the program, Mr. Uong Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union said that in the period 2016-2026, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has supported the construction and repair of 590 Trade Union Solidarity Houses with a total budget of 32.115 billion VND, contributing to helping many union members and workers in difficult circumstances stabilize their accommodation, feel secure in their work, and stick with the Electricity industry.
The Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has maintained a maximum support level of 60 million VND from 2014 to now, so the current support level is still low compared to the level needed to build houses. In 2026, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has increased the support level to 100 million VND, basically meeting the needs of workers.
The implementation is synchronized between trade unions at all levels, from the Trade Union department that detects workers who have needs and are eligible to report to the grassroots trade union to conduct surveys to the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union level for consideration and approval.
The subjects eligible for consideration and support are employees, civil servants, laborers, and trade union members working in Vietnam Electricity Group who have worked continuously in the Electricity industry for 10 years or more.
Houses with too cramped areas, dilapidated houses, heavily damaged houses are dangerous to the safety of family members or heavily damaged by natural disasters, floods (houses collapsed, floods swept away), fires. Family economic circumstances face many difficulties: Wife (husband) has unstable jobs, low income; children are young, have to raise elderly parents; family members have serious illnesses or prolonged illnesses... not enough capacity to renovate, repair or build a new house.
Support is only implemented once for each worker and employee. For special cases, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union will consider and resolve specifically.
One of the conditions to be supported is to be the legal owner of the house being used; the area of land that the individual is using (with or without a house) must have a land use right certificate issued by the State (or a document from a relative agreeing to build a house for living with confirmation from the local government)...
In addition to the industry-level support of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union, upper-level trade unions directly at the grassroots level, grassroots trade unions and colleagues provide additional support, making the amount of support for workers at a higher level, helping to build Trade Union Warm Houses better. Combining the content of colleagues supporting working days to carry out the work of building Trade Union Warm Houses such as the model of supporting the construction of a colleague's house for workers who do not meet the conditions for 10 years of working in the Electricity industry; the professional and trade union unified model for employees to borrow interest-free from the Welfare Fund to buy land to build houses and repay gradually, the repayment amount is used for the next person to borrow to buy land to build houses; linking the Trade Union Warm House housing program with the construction of Electricity Villages and Electricity Villages.
Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Do Duc Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Electricity Trade Union, requested trade union levels to focus on implementing a number of contents well.
In which, continuing to identify Trade Union Shelter as a key care content, regularly reviewing and firmly grasping the circumstances of workers, ensuring support for the right people, public, transparent and timely.
Continue to mobilize the companionship of experts, units, colleagues and social resources; and at the same time research and replicate effective models suitable to the actual conditions of each unit...

On this occasion, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 9 individuals with many contributions in supporting Trade Union Shelter for union members and workers in the Group in the period 2016 - 2026.
