In 10 years, the People's Police Trade Union built 178 new Trade Union Homes

In the period 2016-2026, the People's Police Trade Union built 178 new Trade Union Solidarity Houses; repaired more than 200 houses for union members in difficult circumstances.

According to the People's Police Trade Union (CAND), in the period 2016-2026, the CAND Trade Union did not establish the Trade Union Warm House Fund. Housing support activities are implemented by trade unions at all levels in the CAND according to the regulations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Ministry of Public Security, in accordance with the actual conditions and resource capacity of each unit.

Activities to support Trade Union Solidarity Houses in the People's Public Security Trade Union system from 2016-2026 are implemented on the basis of reviewing the actual needs of union members, prioritizing union members in particularly difficult circumstances, affected by natural disasters, fires or without housing conditions. The mobilization of resources is carried out flexibly, suitable to the capacity of each unit and receives the companionship of unit Party committees and leaders and organizations, individuals, and businesses accompanying in social security activities.

As a result, the Trade Union Shelter Program continues to be a humanitarian bright spot, solving essential housing needs. From 2016-2026, trade union levels in the People's Public Security Forces have supported the construction of 178 new Trade Union Shelters and Trade Union Solidarity Houses; supported the repair of more than 200 houses; the average support level is 40-60 million VND/house, with a total support cost of nearly 34 billion VND.

The People's Police Trade Union directs the Ho Chi Minh City Police Trade Union to implement welfare policies for officials, union members, and workers through coordination with units outside the People's Police force.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Trade Union has coordinated with CEP Microfinance Organization to implement a capital support program for trade union members and workers to have funds to improve their lives with low interest rates; coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Housing Development Fund to implement a lending program with preferential interest rates to support trade union members in creating housing.

Through this, 2,280 cases of union members and officers and soldiers were able to borrow capital with the amount of 107.197 billion VND and 112 cases of union members and officers and soldiers were supported with loans to buy houses with the amount of 99.325 billion VND.

According to the People's Public Security Trade Union, the activity of supporting Trade Union Homes has practically contributed to caring for the lives of union members and workers, clearly showing the role and responsibility of the trade union organization towards union members and workers in difficult housing circumstances and people in localities unfortunately affected by natural disasters and storms, who are subject to "temporary houses and dilapidated houses removed".

The program not only provides material support but is also a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping union members stabilize their lives, feel secure in their work, stick with agencies, units, businesses and trade union organizations as well as elevate welfare activities, not only caring for union members but also proactively showing social responsibility, thereby strongly spreading the humanistic image, "Serving the people" of the People's Public Security Forces.
