At the meeting, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union Pham Hoai Phuong spoke to review the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union; announced outstanding results in the labor movement and trade union activities in 2024.
In which, Mr. Pham Hoai Phuong emphasized the implementation of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers; always innovating the methods of operation, drawing lessons that need to be overcome, so that the Trade Union organization can rise up to be a worthy socio-political organization of the Party, a reliable support for union members and workers, contributing to the stable development of the Transport sector in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the sector and the country.
According to the leaders of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union, since the beginning of the year, trade unions at all levels in the industry have regularly paid attention to, encouraged, and cared for the lives and jobs of union members and workers on holidays; coordinated with authorities at the same level to well implement the grassroots democracy regulations; 100% of units organized conferences for civil servants, 66% of enterprises organized conferences for workers; well organized activities in response to the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and Workers' Month.
The Vietnam Transport Trade Union Charity Fund continues to promote its role as a trusted address for workers in difficult circumstances: Supporting 6 union shelters; visiting and giving gifts to thousands of groups, individuals, and former Youth Volunteers in difficult circumstances with a total support amount of over 3 billion VND; mobilizing employees in the industry to donate over 8.5 billion VND to support people affected by storm No. 3.
Also at the meeting, Mr. Doan Van Buu, former Vice President of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union, Head of the Retired Liaison Committee, on behalf of retired Trade Union officials of all periods, respectfully thanked the timely attention and encouragement of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union's Leadership Board over the past time for creating favorable conditions in spirit and material for them to live happily, healthily and contribute many valuable experiences in Trade Union activities.
“This is an annual activity, an opportunity for generations of Trade Union officials to recall memories, strengthen solidarity, promote good traditions and express deep gratitude, respect and honor to previous generations of the Trade Union organization in general and the transport sector in particular, especially creating conditions to care for and look after the spiritual life of retired officials of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union” - Mr. Doan Van Buu said.
