The conference was attended by 35 key grassroots union officials under the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV). Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu - Vice Chairman of TKV Union chaired the conference.
At the conference, the representative of TKV Trade Union said that in 14 underground units, there are 25 collective housing areas and worker apartments with a total of 2,895 rooms, 6,805 people living there; 2/3 of the collective housing areas were built over 15 years ago; especially some collective housing areas of companies: Ha Lam Coal, Uong Bi Coal, Mine Construction and Installation are in a state of degradation; the collective housing areas are all concerned with arranging physical training areas, sports areas, volleyball courts, soccer fields, badminton, table tennis, etc.
Currently, more than 7,060 workers are renting houses outside, mainly concentrated in Cam Pha and Ha Long areas, with a few in Uong Bi area...
Regarding the Trade Union Shelter housing program, statistics show that from 2023 to present, TKV Trade Union has decided to support funding for building and repairing houses for 279 workers' families, with a total amount of VND 18,240 billion. From 2023, the support level for building new Trade Union Shelter houses has increased from VND 60 million to VND 80 million/house, contributing to motivating workers to build and repair houses.
Delegates attending the conference focused on reporting and reflecting on the content that has been and is being implemented at the unit, especially housing investment projects that have been approved before; investment in welfare works; coordination of care between the trade union and professional agencies for workers' accommodation...
Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of TKV Trade Union Nguyen Trung Hieu acknowledged the specific opinions and responsibilities of the delegates at the conference. TKV Trade Union has compiled opinions and coordinated with professional agencies to promptly come up with timely solutions to implement the set program.
At the same time, the representative of the TKV Trade Union leader requested that the trade unions of the units continue to implement Green Saturday, pay more attention to the safety work and all aspects of workers' lives, and strive to successfully complete the 90-day and night production and business emulation targets launched by the TKV Trade Union Standing Committee and the Group's General Director.
