In the 2024-2025 school year, the national science and technology competition for high school students has the participation of 62/63 Departments of Education and Training (DET) and 12 units under universities, colleges, institutes, research institutes with high schools; high schools under ministries and ministerial-level agencies.
This year, the contest has a total of 212 participating projects, including 23 individual projects, 189 collective projects; 190 projects for high school students and 22 projects for junior high school students.
The contest has a total of 401 students participating, including 358 high school students and 43 middle school students.
This year's competition projects are in 22 fields including: Animal Sciences, Social Sciences and Behavior, Chemistry, Bi medicine and health Sciences, Medical Technology, Cell and phan tu Biology, Chemistry, Computer Biology and Biology - Information Technology, Earth and Environmentology, Imaging System, Chemical Energy, Physical Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, Mathematics, Biology and Astronomics, Plant Science, Rocket and Smart Company, System Software, Reload Science.
In 2025, the first Science and Technology Competition will be organized according to the regulations in Circular 06/2024/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training. Accordingly, the participating units are the Department of Education and Training, each participating unit is allowed to register for a maximum of 3 contest projects; the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City Departments of Education and Training alone are allowed to register for a maximum of 6 contest projects.
For participating units that are schools under ministries, universities, universities, institutes, and academies, each unit can register for a maximum of 2 contest projects.
The contest host unit is allowed to register a maximum of 6 contestants; the contest host unit is the Hanoi Department of Education and Training or Ho Chi Minh City, each unit is allowed to register a maximum of 12 contestants.
The projects participating in the contest were selected from provincial and school-level competitions. According to the report of the participating units, each year, 200-300 projects participate in the preliminary round to select to participate in the final round of the provincial competition, on that basis, select projects to participate in the national competition with the number of projects according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training each year.
From the contest results, the Ministry of Education and Training selected the projects with the highest awards and those who are eligible to participate in the international science and technology competition for high school students scheduled to take place in May 2025 in the US.
