Clean the sponge with boiling water
This is the traditional method and the easiest to do. Housewives only need to boil a pot of water. Drop the dish sponge into the pot of boiling water and boil for about 5 - 10 minutes. Use tongs to remove the sponge and let it cool on a tray or drying rack.
Housewives also need to pay attention to killing bacteria on time and at standard temperatures to avoid deformation of the sponge. This method is also very suitable for sponges that are not made of metal or plastic.
Microwave oven
Microwaves are a convenient tool to quickly and effectively disinfect dish sponges. To do this method, housewives first need to moisten the sponge by soaking it in clean water. Next, put the sponge in the microwave and leave it on high power for about 1 - 2 minutes, leave it out and wait for it to cool.

White vinegar and lemon juice solution

Note that although this cleaning method is quite effective, the vinegar and lemon mixture has a strong odor, so choose to dry the sponge in a well-ventilated place to reduce the smell before use.
