One of the good vegetables that housewives choose to include in their meals to contribute to cooling down and detoxifying the body is amaranth.

This is a rustic vegetable but has high nutritional value and has a good effect in cooling and detoxifying the body. In traditional medicine, amaranth is considered a vegetable with cool properties, sweet taste, helping to soothe the body, support digestion and reduce internal heat symptoms, especially suitable for tropical climates like in Vietnam.

To maximize the uses of amaranth, housewives need to pay attention to the processing method - a very important factor.

First of all, in the selection stage, housewives should choose fresh amaranth, with natural green or red leaves, not crushed or showing signs of pests and diseases. Before processing vegetables, they need to be washed many times with water to remove dirt and impurities; they can be soaked in diluted salt water for about 10-15 minutes to ensure hygiene and safety.

One of the most common ways to prepare it is to cook amaranth soup. Housewives can cook amaranth with fresh shrimp, minced meat or simply cook it to keep the cool taste.

When cooking, you should boil water first and then add the vegetables, avoid cooking for too long because it will lose vitamins and make the vegetables mushy. Amaranth soup cooked properly will have a natural sweetness, attractive color and especially help cool down very effectively on hot sunny days.

Boiled amaranth is also a simple but healthy choice. Housewives can use amaranth boiled water as a cooling drink, supporting liver detoxification and supplementing minerals. However, it should be noted not to add too much salt when boiling to maintain the natural coolness of the vegetables.

Another cooking method that housewives can choose is to stir-fry amaranth with garlic. Although stir-fried dishes are often greasy, if cooked with less oil and not cooked for too long, the dish still retains most of its nutritional value, bringing an attractive flavor.

Amaranth is an easy-to-process food, suitable for many dishes and brings many health benefits.
