Tuyen Quang - The Ho Chi Minh road project section Cho Chu - Trung Son intersection is being accelerated, removing obstacles related to site clearance.

Started in June 2024 with a total investment of more than 1,600 billion VND, the Ho Chi Minh Road project section Cho Chu - Trung Son intersection is nearly 29km long.

In which, the section through Thai Nguyen province is 11.51km long; through Tuyen Quang province is about 17.1km. The project starts in Cho Chu town (Km 245+878), the end point at Trung Son intersection (Km 276+135.5).

The project is invested on a scale of a level III mountain road, roadbed width of 9m, design speed of 60km/h.

According to the plan, the road will be completed and put into operation at the end of 2025. However, encountering some obstacles forced the project to postpone the milestone to the finish line. The Ministry of Construction has issued a decision approving the project adjustment, postponing the completion time to the third quarter of 2026.

One of the main reasons why the project is being delayed is due to site clearance work. Contractors have not received clean ground, affecting the construction process.

Recorded by PV in mid-January 2026, after being delayed in completion, the project is being accelerated. At the construction site section through Tuyen Quang province, hundreds of workers and machinery and equipment are mobilized to implement the project.

Many basic sections of the route have been completed, and sandcasting (base stone) and asphalt paving have been carried out.

In particular, site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure are being urgently implemented. In parallel with roadbed construction, bridges, culverts, and resettlement items are being accelerated.

According to reports from the investor, in Tuyen Quang province, land clearance compensation work, the total value of compensation plan approval for households and individuals is nearly 140 billion VND/62.1ha/17.1km/821 households.

In which, the cost of compensation, support and resettlement is 124.96 billion VND; the cost of relocating technical infrastructure is 12.51 billion VND; the cost of organizing implementation is 2.09 billion VND.

To date, 137.38 billion VND/61.78ha/735 households has been disbursed, reaching 98% of compensation costs. Land clearance of 61.78/62.1 ha has been completed, reaching 99.5% of the area according to land acquisition for project implementation.

The lottery and handover of resettlement land for 98/99 households have been completed. The relocation of technical infrastructure for power and telecommunications lines on the route has been completed.

Contractors are focusing on accelerating construction, bringing the project to completion in the third quarter of 2026.

Previously, the Ministry of Construction had a document requesting the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board to coordinate with local authorities to promptly handle problems.

For Thai Nguyen province, complete all site clearance work before January 31, 2026.

For Tuyen Quang province, complete site clearance for 7 households/300m on the main route before January 15, 2026 and complete additional site clearance work in January 2026.
