Practical and meaningful support
In 2024, closely following the theme "Focusing on bringing the resolutions of the Trade Union Congresses at all levels into life; competing to achieve achievements to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union", the Trade Unions of the North Central provinces organized many practical and meaningful activities. In which, they focused on activities to care for union members and workers, organize propaganda activities and work to develop union members, and establish grassroots trade unions.
In Ha Tinh province, in 2024, trade unions at all levels in the province mobilized all resources to present more than 42,900 gifts to union members in difficult circumstances, worth more than 19 billion VND; negotiated and signed 53 cooperation agreements, contributing to increasing benefits for more than 32,000 union members, with a benefit amount of more than 9 billion VND. The Ha Tinh Trade Union Social Fund supported the construction and repair of 93 "Union Shelters" houses, worth more than 2.86 billion VND; supported the construction of 2 dormitories for union members with an amount of more than 4 billion VND.
Particularly on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Ha Tinh Provincial Labor Federation will allocate nearly 1.2 billion VND from the Trade Union Social Fund to support 40 "Trade Union Shelters" for union members in difficulty.
In Nghe An province, in 2024, the activities of caring for and supporting union members and workers have always received regular attention from trade unions at all levels during peak times. Specifically, on the occasion of "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Chia Chia" in 2024, the trade unions at all levels of Nghe An province spent nearly 20 billion VND to take care of Tet for nearly 23,000 union members and workers. In 2024, they supported the construction and repair of 57 "Union Shelters" (52 newly built houses, 5 repaired houses) for union members and workers, with a total amount of more than 2.1 billion VND.
In Thanh Hoa province, in 2024, trade unions at all levels in the province focused on mobilizing all resources, focusing on the grassroots, taking care of union members and workers to stabilize their lives and work with peace of mind. Specifically, trade unions at all levels, agencies, units and enterprises in the province organized visits and presented gifts to over 340,000 union members and workers, with a total amount of more than 318 billion VND.
With the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring of Party Gratitude" and "Workers' Festival - Charity Market" in 2025, Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation visited and presented more than 18,500 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses, work-related accidents... with a total value of 12.8 billion VND. Supported 62 "Union Shelters" with a total value of more than 2.4 billion VND. In addition, all levels of the provincial labor unions drew from regular budgets and mobilized agencies, units, and enterprises to visit and present gifts to more than 350,000 union members and workers, with a total value of about 190 billion VND.

As one of 62 workers in difficult circumstances who received support from "Union Shelter" on the occasion of "Tet Sum Vay - Spring of Party Grace" in 2025, Ms. Bui Thi Huong (Union member of Sakurai Vietnam Co., Ltd., in Le Mon Industrial Park, Thanh Hoa City) expressed her emotion, because according to Ms. Huong, without support from the union, her family would never have had a spacious house like today.
“Honestly, this year’s Tet holiday seems to have come early for our family, because the trade unions at all levels have cared for us and supported us with 50 million VND to build and renovate our house. Although the support amount is not all, it is still a lot, helping my family to ease some of our difficulties and have a new, more spacious and clean house,” Ms. Huong shared.
Similar to Ms. Huong (in Thanh Hoa), Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Yen (a member of the Hoanh Son Group Joint Stock Company, under the Hong Linh Town Labor Federation, Ha Tinh Province) shared that in 2024, thanks to the attention of trade unions at all levels, her family was supported with 40 million VND to build a house. According to Ms. Yen, this is not only a material gift but also a spiritual gift, showing the care of the trade unions at all levels for the union members' accommodation, which helps her and her family feel more secure, so that they can work and contribute with peace of mind.
It is known that in 2024, in addition to cases such as Ms. Huong (in Thanh Hoa), Ms. Yen (in Ha Tinh), the Trade Unions of provinces in the North Central region have provided support to build and repair hundreds of "Trade Union Shelters", thereby helping union members and workers with housing difficulties to have a more solid and beautiful shelter to welcome a happy Tet with their families.
