On December 8, the Binh Thuan Provincial Federation of Labor announced that since the beginning of the year, trade unions at all levels in the province have recruited 9,097 new union members, reaching 363.8% of the assigned target. In particular, 501 union members were recruited in the informal sector.
Along with that, the establishment of grassroots trade unions has achieved many outstanding results with 30 newly established grassroots trade unions. Of these, 29 are in the non-state sector.
To develop strong union members and establish grassroots unions, many unions at the grassroots level have implemented many solutions. For example, the Phan Thiet City Labor Federation has surveyed and grasped the situation of enterprises and workers based on data provided by the Social Insurance; established a survey team to work directly with enterprises to propagate and mobilize workers to join unions and establish grassroots unions.
The time from now until the end of 2024 is only a matter of weeks, however, trade unions at all levels in Binh Thuan continue to promote propaganda and mobilize workers and businesses to strive to develop and increase the number of union members by more than 800.
