On December 12, according to Lao Dong, technicians and workers from several construction units were urgently dismantling scaffolding as well as many other items at My Dinh Stadium (Hanoi), after the concert "Anh trai say hi" ended.
Currently, My Dinh Stadium is still littered with materials, rubber mats, and honeycomb plastic mats (used to cover the grass and piste). Workers are cleaning up and rolling them up to move them outside.
In addition, at the competition field area, workers are also cleaning up, vacuuming up remaining metal, using industrial machines to blow away dirt, returning the field to a clean and safe surface.
Actual records show that the grass at My Dinh Stadium is generally still green and lush. However, some areas near the border have been stripped of grass, exposing the ground and sand.
Regarding the Vietnamese team, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is leaving open the possibility of renting My Dinh Stadium if coach Kim Sang-sik and his team win tickets to the semi-finals.
However, according to the regulations of the Southeast Asian Football Federation, 3 weeks before the match, the stadium is not allowed to organize events other than football to ensure the quality of the grass and field, meeting competition standards.
In case Vietnam wins second place in Group B, they will have to play the semi-final match at home on December 27. Conversely, if they advance as Group B winners, they will play the semi-final match at home on December 29.
In theory, according to the 3-week rule, after the "Anh trai say hi" show on December 9, the Vietnamese team will have to wait until December 30 to be able to use My Dinh in the knockout matches.
Therefore, in the next 1-2 days, VFF will send a team of experts to assess and inspect the grass and other items at My Dinh Stadium. Based on the assessment and forecast of whether the grass will recover in time or not..., VFF will decide whether to rent My Dinh Stadium or choose another location to host the ASEAN Cup semi-final.
