On the evening of December 11, many users "complained" on banking groups and forums about the common situation that the Application (App) of Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) continuously reported errors, making it impossible to log in to the application or make transactions.
Mr. Tran Minh Phuc needed to transfer money urgently but waited all night but still could not transfer the money. The banking application still reported an error at 8:30 a.m. on December 12. "TPBank makes customers feel in a dilemma when the application malfunctions," Mr. Phuc shared indignantly.
Sharing the same situation as Mr. Phuc, many accounts also expressed dissatisfaction when waiting all night to "wait" for repair information but accessing the application "still reported being down" - Mr. Le Minh shared at 8am on December 12.
"TP Bank's technical department is still slow, leaving the error overnight without being fixed," said Mr. Minh.
As a frequent online shopper, Ms. Thanh Huyen (Cau Giay) was upset when the banking application could not work.
Ms. Le Mai Anh (Ha Dong, Hanoi) also shared that the TPBank application error appeared on the afternoon of December 11. Due to her long-standing habit of not using cash, Ms. Mai Anh felt very inconvenient when she could not open the banking application to scan the QR code to pay for a cup of coffee.
In a notice on its official social media page, TPBank acknowledged the disruption of transactions on some channels due to a system upgrade that began early on December 12. The bank said it was making every effort to fix the problem and hoped customers would sympathize with the inconvenience.
Although TPBank has issued an official announcement and committed to resolving the problem as quickly as possible, many customers are still dissatisfied because they have to wait too long and do not receive information sooner. Some opinions also say that maintenance and upgrades should be announced in advance instead of only being announced after the problem has occurred.
Many customers expect TPBank to improve its system upgrade and maintenance process, ensuring earlier notification so they can be proactive in transactions. At the same time, the digital banking system needs to be more stable to avoid similar incidents in the future.
As of 10am this morning, the technical problem has not been resolved and the system is not yet operating stably.
In the context of digital transformation, TPBank has been recognized as one of the pioneering banks with many major awards in the field of digital banking, such as: Best Digital Bank in Vietnam voted by The Asian Banker; Best Digital Banking Application in Vietnam at Global Brands Awards; Outstanding Digital Transformation Enterprise at Vietnam Digital Awards.
Despite impressive achievements, recent transaction disruptions have left many customers questioning the system’s ability to maintain stability, especially during critical times. This shows that despite having a good strategy and foundation, TPBank still needs to improve further to meet customer expectations.
