From mid-September to November 25, the whole province of Vinh Long has completed the congress of 549/549 grassroots trade unions, with 161,833 union members out of a total of 181,667 workers. During this period, many enterprises entered the peak of year-end production, the number of orders increased by about 10 - 15% compared to the same period, causing great pressure on progress and human resources. However, companies are still flexibly adjusting their plans, creating favorable conditions for grassroots trade unions to organize congresses on time.
At Lefaso Tra Vinh Industrial Investment and Production Joint Stock Company, Mr. Le Duy Khuong - General Director - said that the company maintains an output of 14,000-15,000 pairs of shoes/day. Despite increased production, the Board of Directors still absolutely prioritizes trade union activities.
At Viet Vuong 3 Trading Company Limited, orders increased by about 15% over the same period in 2024. However, 130/130 delegates were fully mobilized to attend the congress.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Phung - Chairman of the Trade Union, Management of the Technology Department - said that the Board of Directors directly directs the preparation contents from the ceremony, personnel to the celebration activities.
"The Provincial Federation of Labor provided very close support. The document consulting team guides step by step, helping the company's grassroots union complete the dossier even though the enterprise is more than 80km from the province," Mr. Phung shared.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the completion of the congress of all 549 grassroots trade unions is the result of the synchronous and drastic management of the trade union system, with the smooth coordination from all levels and grassroots trade union officials, especially in the context of the newly merged organization, many new requirements for the operating model are set.
To ensure progress, the Provincial Federation of Labor established 3 working groups in charge of guiding, inspecting, appraising and approving documents for each unit. The teams directly worked with grassroots union officials, closely monitoring the production and business schedules of enterprises to agree on the most favorable time to organize the congress, minimizing the impact on production and business activities at the end of the year.
According to Mr. Linh, the grassroots union congress is an important political activity to summarize and evaluate the results of the past term; determine the tasks and goals of the new term; contribute documents to the Party Congress and the higher-level union congress; at the same time, elect a new Executive Committee with both professional capacity and experience.
The Vinh Long Provincial Trade Union Congress is expected to be held in mid-December 2025, with the participation of 390 delegates, including 300 official delegates and 90 invited delegates.
