3 majors forecast to have the strongest recruitment in August 2026 in Hanoi

In August 2026, construction-infrastructure; wholesale and retail and consumer services; marketing and communication are the 3 strongest recruitment industries in Hanoi.

According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, the employment picture in the Capital in August 2026 is forecast to continue to be vibrant, but the pressure to shift the quality of personnel will become even greater.

The demand for recruitment of personnel in the field of construction and infrastructure is increasing due to the rapid progress of super projects. The construction industry is entering a fierce wave of competition, many general contractors are forced to improve their remuneration, engineers' income reaches 30–55 million VND/month, technical workers reach 22–29 million VND/month, and professional mechanics reach from 16–65 million VND/month.

Next is the recruitment demand in the wholesale, retail and consumer service industries. In order to prepare for the peak of tourism and major holidays (especially National Day September 2) and the new school year shopping season, retail businesses, supermarkets and restaurant - food chains tend to promote the recruitment of business, sales, and customer care personnel.

Recruitment demand in the marketing and communication industries will witness the explosion of business activities on social media platforms (TikTok, Facebook, Shopee...). Many small and medium-sized enterprises are taking advantage of this opportunity to recruit young workers (at internship positions, content editor/creator, digital marketing, online advertising optimization, ...) to grasp good trends to optimize operating costs and promote their presence on social media platforms.

Previously, in July 2026, the Capital's economy continued to witness solid and comprehensive growth momentum, clearly reflected in the socio-economic context and the recruitment picture of businesses. Hanoi's labor market recorded a large explosion in the industrial - construction sector when recruitment demand increased by 10.1 percentage points compared to the previous month. The simultaneous acceleration of construction of a series of key infrastructure and super projects in the Capital has created a huge "thirst" for human resources, leading to the risk of supply-demand imbalance and fierce competition to attract a team of highly skilled engineers and workers.

The market also reveals a clear trend of differentiation with a shortage of personnel in the mid-range segment. In terms of qualifications, businesses are focusing on hunting for workers with university and college degrees or higher (total demand accounts for 47.7%; of which university degrees or higher account for 27.2% and college degrees account for 20.5%).

The supply of job seekers is strongly differentiated at both ends when the university and above group (accounting for 40.6%) and the untrained labor group (accounting for 29.2%) both account for very high proportions.

Regarding occupational groups, businesses have the largest demand for mid-level (21.82%) and high-level (20.97%) specialists, but the number of applications from workers is concentrated in ordinary service occupational groups or the block of assembly workers, machinery and equipment operators (while the actual recruitment demand of businesses for this operating group only accounts for 9.46%).
