Vocational groups with high recruitment demand in Can Tho in the first half of 2026

MỸ LY |

Can Tho - Food processors, woodworking jobs, garments, other handicrafts... are groups with high recruitment demand in Can Tho in the first half of the year.

According to the Can Tho City Employment Service Center (DVVL), in the first 6 months of 2026, the unit collected labor recruitment needs from 1,003 turns of businesses, with 68,692 job positions to be recruited.

Statistics show that recruitment demand is concentrated in many occupational groups, including food processing workers, woodworking, garment, other handicrafts and other related workers accounting for 25.20% of the total recruitment demand. Corresponding to this occupational group are positions of food processing workers, garment workers, handicraft workers...

Next is the simple labor group, accounting for 10.14% of the total recruitment demand, in positions of packaging, delivery, cleaning...

Regarding the demand for recruiting workers by qualification, the group of untrained qualifications accounts for the majority with 43.69% of the total recruitment demand. Meanwhile, university degrees account for 19.48%.

The city has created jobs for 54,656 workers; provided job counseling, employment policies and vocational training for 159054 people; introduced domestic and foreign jobs for 17,213 people; provided domestic and foreign labor for 3,441 people through many direct and online forms. The DVVL Center continues to play an important role in connecting labor supply and demand in the area, contributing to regulating the labor market.

In the last 6 months of the year, the labor market in Can Tho City is forecast to continue to grow positively, but there is still a possibility of a shortage of high-quality human resources.

The digital transformation process and the application of artificial intelligence will continue to strongly change the city's employment structure. The rapid development of artificial intelligence is creating new job opportunities but also increasing pressure on workers who are not able to adapt to the new requirements of the labor market.

According to the City Employment Service Center, the increase in recruitment demand in the last 6 months of the year does not mean that job opportunities will be evenly divided, because businesses are setting increasingly high standards for professional competence, skills and adaptability of workers. Therefore, workers need to proactively improve digital skills, technology skills and lifelong learning ability to meet the new requirements of the labor market.
