Appraised and issued decisions to enjoy unemployment benefits for 2,963 cases (a decrease of 149 applications compared to the previous month and a decrease of 2,235 applications compared to the same period in 2025) with a support amount of 129.4 billion VND. In addition, the Hanoi Employment Service Center has advised and supported job search for over 4,700 workers, including vocational training support for 84 people with an amount of 348 million VND.
The Hanoi Employment Service Center assesses that in April 2026, the capital's economy is expected to face certain challenges due to strong fluctuations in input materials and the global trade chain being affected. The industries most affected are textiles and garments, transportation; wholesale and retail.
In that context, the labor market in April 2026 is not only vibrant in quantity but also more demanding in quality. The industries that are increasing recruitment the strongest are the manufacturing industry (up 5%), tourism and travel (up 4%). Notably, with the manufacturing industry, instead of recruiting purely general labor, the market is thirsty for technicians with skills to operate automatic lines and know how to read and understand production data to minimize costs. Laborers who possess multitasking skills and the ability to use AI support tools in order and warehouse management will have a superior advantage in the job market.
