On August 11, the Hanoi Employment Service Center said that in July 2026, businesses in the area recruited 40,000 job positions.

Hanoi Employment Service Center said that in July 2026, the socio-economy of the Capital continued to maintain stable and positive growth momentum. Commercial and service activities recorded total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue estimated at 93.2 trillion VND (up 19.6% compared to the same period in 2025).

The tourism sector during the summer peak attracted a large number of tourists. Disbursement of public investment capital implemented from the State budget managed by localities broke through reaching 16,400 billion VND. The whole City issued new certificates to 2,847 businesses with registered capital of 38,100 billion VND and 1,091 businesses returned to operation.

The recruitment demand of businesses in the City is estimated to reach 40,000 job positions. The market recorded a strong boom in the industrial - construction sector due to the simultaneous acceleration of construction of key infrastructure mega-projects.

The highest concentration of recruitment demand is in the group: Wholesale, retail and other service activities (accounting for 52.0%), processing and manufacturing industry - construction (accounting for 35.9%).

Recruitment differentiation is clear when businesses focus on attracting college and university degrees (accounting for 47.7%) to form a professional - management framework; and at the same time maintain recruitment of untrained workers (24.2%) to directly serve the production line.

The main offered salary ranges from 10 - 20 million VND/month (accounting for 53.3%).

On the labor supply side, it is estimated that the whole City has 41,700 people looking for jobs. The leading supply is the group with university degrees or higher accounting for 40.6%, closely followed by the group without training accounting for 29.2%.

The job search force is mainly concentrated in the age group of 35 - 54 years old (accounting for 42.1%) and 25 - 34 years old (accounting for 37.0%). The desired salary of candidates is concentrated in the range of 10 - 20 million VND/month (46.2%) and 5 - 10 million VND/month (44.6%).

In July 2026, the whole City has created jobs for 16,800 workers. The Hanoi Employment Service Center has successfully organized 23 job transaction sessions, connected interviews for 1,586 workers, with 703 workers receiving applications.

Regarding unemployment insurance (BHTN) policy, the Center has received 8,725 applications; appraised and issued decisions to enjoy unemployment benefits for 7,508 applications with a disbursement cost of 264.8 billion VND; and at the same time provided counseling and job search support for over 1,900 people, and vocational training support for 61 people.

According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, it is forecast that in August 2026, the capital's labor market is forecast to continue to be vibrant, but the pressure to shift the quality of personnel is increasing. The construction and infrastructure sectors are entering a fierce competition for technical/manual personnel due to the rapid progress of major projects.

Wholesale, retail, food and beverage services, and consumer services are promoting recruitment in preparation for the peak of September 2nd and school starts. At the same time, the marketing and communication segment recorded a large wave of recruitment of young forces (stay students, content, digital marketing) from small and medium-sized enterprises to optimize costs and develop digital trade channels.
