625 Trade Union Homes support workers in the Electricity industry

In the period 2016 - 2026, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has supported the construction and repair of 625 Trade Union Shelters with a total budget of 32.115 billion VND, contributing to helping many union members and workers in difficult circumstances stabilize their accommodation, feel secure in their work, and stick with the Electricity industry.

A source of encouragement for workers to continue to strive and strive

Recently, in An Thanh hamlet, Lap Vo commune, Dong Thap province, authorized by the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union (ĐLVN), the Trade Union of the National Power Transmission Corporation, the Trade Union of Power Transmission Company 4... coordinated to organize the "Trade Union Home" awarding ceremony for union member Nguyen Trong Nhan, worker of the Chau Doc Line Management and Operation Team, An Giang Power Transmission.

Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam - Chairman of the Trade Union of Power Transmission Company 4 - said that in the face of the difficult housing situation of union member Nguyen Trong Nhan, An Giang Power Transmission Trade Union has proactively reviewed, learned about the actual situation and proposed to the upper-level trade union to consider supporting according to the "Trade Union Shelter" program.

From the concern of Trade Union levels, the direction and companionship of professional leaders and the joint efforts of the collective of officials and employees, the dream of a stable home for union member Nguyen Trong Nhan's family has become a reality.

The project started on May 11, has just been completed and put into use with an area of 88.8m2. The new house is the crystallization of affection, responsibility and sharing for workers" - Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam said.

Receiving the house with joy and emotion, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nhan shared: "For me, the gift received today is not just a house. It is also a colleague relationship, the concern of the unit, and the trust that the Trade Union organization has for workers.

Increase support level from 60 million VND to 100 million VND

Mr. Do Duc Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union - said that the industry trade union does not establish a separate "Trade Union Shelter" Fund but provides support through the Mutual Assistance Fund of Vietnam Electricity Group according to the Fund's Management and Use Regulations.

According to Mr. Do Duc Hung, in the period 2016 - 2026, the EVN Trade Union has supported the construction and repair of 625 Trade Union Solidarity Houses with a total budget of 32.115 billion VND.

The beneficiaries of support are CNVCLĐ, trade union members working in Vietnam Electricity Group, who have worked continuously in the Electricity industry for 10 years or more; houses with too narrow areas, dilapidated houses, heavily damaged houses that are dangerous to the safety of family members or heavily damaged by natural disasters, floods (houses collapsed, floods swept away), fires; family economic circumstances facing many difficulties - wife (husband) has unstable jobs, low income; young children, having to raise elderly parents; families with people suffering from dangerous diseases or prolonged illnesses... not capable of renovating, repairing or building new houses...

From 2014 to the end of July 2026, the VNR Trade Union maintains a maximum support level of 60 million VND/new construction case; from August 1, 2026, the VNR Trade Union has increased the support level to 100 million VND, basically meeting the needs of workers.

According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union, to continue improving the effectiveness of the "Trade Union Shelter" Program, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union identifies a number of key tasks and solutions such as continuing to effectively implement the "Trade Union Shelter" Program, considering this as a task to care for workers; the goal in the period 2027 - 2037 is about 50 houses each year and the whole period is 500 houses, with a total value of about 450 billion VND; converting the management of social and charity funds according to Decree No. 03/2026/ND-CP to maintain the implementation of charity and social work and support the construction of Trade Union Shelter houses.
