In general, in the first 6 months of 2026, the number of unemployed people of working age is 773,300 people, a decrease of 24,900 people compared to the same period last year. The rate of unemployment in the working age is 1.65%, urban areas is 1.24%, and rural areas is 1.92%.
Regarding average income, the average income of workers in the second quarter of 2026 reached 9 million VND/month; the average income of workers in the first 6 months of 2026 reached 9 million VND/month. In which, the average income of male workers is 10.1 million VND/month; female workers is 7.8 million VND/month; workers in urban areas are 10.6 million VND/month; rural workers are 7.9 million VND/month.
For paid workers, in general, in the first 6 months of 2026, the average income reached 10 million VND/month. The income of male workers is 10.5 million VND/month; female workers is 9.5 million VND/month; workers in urban areas are 11.1 million VND/month; workers in rural areas are 9.1 million VND/month.
Regarding the unemployment rate in the working age group, in the second quarter of 2026, the unemployment rate in the working age group is 2.23%. The unemployment rate in urban areas is 2.49%.
In general, in the first 6 months of 2026, the unemployment rate in the working age group is 2.22%, of which urban areas are 2.47%, and rural areas are 2.05%.
The unemployment rate of young people (from 15-24 years old) in the second quarter of 2026 is 8.67%. The unemployment rate of young people in urban areas is 9.75%; rural areas is 8.07%. In the second quarter of 2026, the whole country has about 1.4 million young people (from 15-24 years old) who are unemployed and do not participate in education and training, accounting for 10% of the total number of young people.
The rate of young people unemployed and not participating in studying and training in rural areas is 11.5%, urban areas is 7.8%; young women unemployed and not participating in studying and training is 11.6%; men is 8.5%.
