On August 22, the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor (VFF) coordinated with Gen Nex Apparel Company Limited (Giao Long Industrial Park, Giao Long Commune) to organize a Union Meal with 1,000 meals for workers.
On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor also presented 22 gifts including cash and essential items to support union members in difficulty.
According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, the "Union Meal" is an activity widely deployed by more than 700 grassroots unions across the province, to contribute to taking care of meals, improving life and creating a cohesive atmosphere among workers.
Through charity meals, the program also spreads the message of sharing, encouraging union members and workers to work with peace of mind and stay with the company for a long time.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung - Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor said that the Union Meal not only shows the concern of the union organization for union members, but is also a humane and practical activity.
The program contributes to tightening harmonious, stable and progressive relations in production and business, thereby helping businesses and workers to accompany and develop sustainably.
"It can be said that from simple but practical activities such as the Union Meal, the union organization continues to affirm its role as a reliable support, accompanying workers, especially in the context of many current difficulties in life," Ms. Dung added.
