On September 16, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized a conference to foster and train trade union skills and professional skills for 41 full-time trade union officials.
At the conference, Comrade Doan Duc Han - Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the General Confederation - participated as a reporter, conveying contents on the Charter of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union and new points; some issues on the organizational structure, staffing of trade union officials; work on developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) and issues raised in the new situation.
The contents were discussed in the context that the Trade Union organization is continuing to arrange and streamline the apparatus and innovate operating methods. Therefore, in addition to updating regulations, the conference focused on clarifying the issues that full-time trade union officials are directly facing in the process of implementing tasks at the grassroots level.

The exchange and discussion session received the attention of trade union officials. Delegates shared the advantages and difficulties in organizing activities after arrangement; coordination and assignment of tasks; management and development of union members, establishment of grassroots trade unions as well as grasping the situation and caring for union members and workers in the context of many changes in the organizational model.
Listening to opinions from the grassroots level, Comrade Doan Duc Han acknowledged the proposals and recommendations and said that he would summarize, report, and propose to the Standing Committee of the General Confederation to consider and resolve the contents under its authority.
Comrade Doan Duc Han emphasized the requirement to continue to direct trade union activities to the grassroots level, with the spirit that where there are workers, there needs to be a Trade Union organization to gather, represent, care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; and at the same time ensure that union members are cared for and cared for in accordance with actual conditions.
From practical work, Comrade Doan Duc Han also shared the difficulties and obstacles that the General Confederation is focusing on handling in the process of organizing and operating Trade Union activities according to the new model. The arrangement of organization, assignment of tasks, methods of coordination and requirements for innovation of activities raise many issues that need to be further researched, guided and resolved so that trade union activities can be deployed uniformly, smoothly and closely to the grassroots level.
This is also an opportunity for difficulties and obstacles from the grassroots level to be reflected, exchanged and gradually find ways to remove them, contributing to improving the effectiveness of trade union activities in the stage where the organizational structure is undergoing many changes.
