Labor shortage problem at factories in Tuyen Quang

Việt Bắc |

Tuyen Quang - Many factories in industrial parks in Tuyen Quang are having a headache with the problem of labor shortage.

Quarter I and quarter II every year are the time when businesses in the garment and footwear sectors focus their efforts on export orders. However, at some factories in Tuyen Quang, the production atmosphere is gloomy due to lack of labor.

MSA-YB Co., Ltd. - Long Binh An Industrial Park (Binh Thuan ward, Tuyen Quang) is one of the units that is falling into a shortage of personnel.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy - Head of Administration - Human Resources Department of MSA-YB Co., Ltd. said that from the end of 2025, the unit experienced a situation where the number of workers gradually decreased, especially after the Lunar New Year.

To ensure the production lines operate at full capacity, the company needs more than 2,000 workers. Currently, the company is short of about 800 workers.

According to Mr. Huy, although the unit has proactively lowered recruitment standards, ready to receive unskilled labor without training, the results are still not as expected.

After many months of continuous recruitment, MSA-YB Co., Ltd. has only recruited less than 50 people.

Also according to Mr. Huy, the company also has many preferential policies such as lunch support, overtime, and pick-up and drop-off. However, the number of people returning to work is not large.

The reason stems from the fact that workers only need seasonal jobs. Especially, in the context of the explosion of digital platforms, a new job segment has been created such as: Shippers, technology drivers, online sales... This creates very strong competition with the traditional labor market.

A similar situation also occurred at Chung Jye Tuyen Quang Vietnam Shoe Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Tuyen Quang.

According to Mr. Nguyen The Tung - Chairman of the company's Trade Union, as of October 2025, the unit still maintained a framework of 5,400 employees. However, to date, this number has decreased by more than 400 people.

Previously, job hopping or shortage of workers only appeared in industries such as textiles and garments, and footwear. However, now the labor shortage has spread to the electronics and processing industries.

Faced with difficulties in labor recruitment, some companies in Tuyen Quang province are forced to reduce input criteria. In particular, many companies apply automation to reduce dependence on the number of unskilled workers.

Typically, Woodsland Joint Stock Company in Thang Quan Industrial Cluster. To solve the labor shortage, the company has installed robot rigs to replace a large workforce.

In addition to transforming production models, businesses are also actively coordinating with vocational schools to link training. Supplementing labor sources to serve production. At the same time, improving preferential policies so that workers can feel secure and attached.

These solutions are expected to help businesses proactively manage human resources, meet the requirements of expanding production and improving competitiveness in the current period.
