Employment is wide open, workers are less homeless
According to the Quang Ngai Provincial Labor Federation, in order to support businesses in recruiting workers, meeting production and business needs and creating jobs for workers, the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks Management Board, the Department of Home Affairs, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Labor Federation will coordinate to organize the "Binh Ngo Spring" Job Fair 2026 with a total target of more than 17,900 job positions.
It is expected that 35 businesses in the province will participate in recruitment, with salaries ranging from 6 - 22 million VND/month, opening up many job opportunities for workers in many fields.
The Job Fair is organized in two phases. Phase 1 takes place on March 7, 2026 at Dien Hong Youth Activity Center (No. 60 - 62 Hung Vuong, Nghia Lo ward, Quang Ngai province). Phase 2 is organized on March 21, 2026 at Kon Tum Youth Support Culture - Sports Center (No. 310 Duy Tan, Dak Cam ward, Quang Ngai province).
The recruitment target is people, trainees, new graduates, demobilized soldiers... who are looking for jobs or have unstable jobs.
The Quang Ngai Provincial Labor Federation said that the whole province currently has 84,363 union members/95,331 workers, civil servants, and laborers. Among them, tens of thousands of workers work at VSIP Industrial Park, Tinh Phong Industrial Park, Dung Quat Economic Zone...
In recent years, many businesses in the province have expanded production scale, leading to a high demand for labor recruitment. However, one of the major concerns of workers is the housing issue. Currently, Quang Ngai is still lacking affordable social housing. Many workers have to rent rooms in cramped, degraded rooms, but rents are still high.
According to records, the price of rooms in areas near Tinh Phong Industrial Park, VSIP Industrial Park, Dung Quat Economic Zone ranges from 1 - 1.5 million VND/month. Meanwhile, the average salary of workers is about 6.5 million VND/month, plus increasingly expensive living expenses make it almost very difficult to accumulate.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam, a worker working at Dung Quat Economic Zone, shared: "My house is about 60km from my workplace, going back and forth every day takes a lot of time. If there is cheap social housing for workers to rent, it will provide a lot of support, especially for those who are married and have young children.
Accelerate social housing construction, retain workers for businesses
On March 1st, representatives of the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Construction said that phase 1 of the HUD - Phu My social housing project, belonging to Phu My New Urban Area (Cam Thanh ward and An Phu commune), is under construction. The project has a total investment of 310 billion VND, expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028, meeting the housing needs of more than 700 low-income people, workers and laborers.
In the second quarter of 2026, the social housing project in Tinh Phong Industrial Park (Tho Phong commune) will be implemented, invested by the Trade Union Project Management Board - Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The project is implemented in the period 2025 - 2028 with a total capital of nearly 600 billion VND, including 603 apartments, meeting accommodation for more than 1,800 people.
Also in the second quarter of 2026, the social housing project at the Quang Ngai Trade Union Facilities Zone will be started, with a total investment of nearly 1,100 billion VND, invested by Saigon Thuan Phuoc Green Real Estate Joint Stock Company (Da Nang City). Project scale of 1,209 apartments, meeting accommodation for more than 3,000 people. ILMF Co., Ltd. has also just submitted a proposal to invest in a social housing area in Cam Thanh ward with an area of more than 4,800m2.
According to a representative of the Department of Construction, two social housing projects expected to start construction in the second quarter of 2026 will only be for rent, not for sale. The rental price is calculated to be suitable for the income of Quang Ngai workers.
