On September 12, the Lao Dong Newspaper Representative Office in the Central Highlands region coordinated and transferred money from the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund to the Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation to present to the family of Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Nam (Deputy Head of the Organization and Inspection Department of the Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation).
This is the amount of money that Lao Dong Newspaper readers donated to Ms. Nam's family after the article "The difficult situation of female union officials" was published on August 8, 2024.
Accordingly, Lao Dong Newspaper readers donated 16,945,000 VND (through the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund - Lao Dong Newspaper) to help Ms. Nam's family overcome difficult circumstances.
In addition, many benefactors have also directly supported Ms. Nam's family through personal accounts.
Handing over the above amount of money to Ms. Nam, Mr. Le Van Thanh - Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation thanked the companionship and support of Lao Dong Newspaper readers from all over the country for contributing to helping Ms. Nam's difficult situation.
Mr. Thanh hopes that after receiving this great encouragement, Ms. Nam and her daughter will overcome adversity, feel secure in treating their illness, and successfully complete their assigned tasks.
Unable to hide her emotion, Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Nam shared: "After Lao Dong Newspaper published information about my life and my daughter's, my family received a lot of encouragement from many union officials, union members and some other benefactors from all over the country."
"I will encourage my daughter to overcome difficulties and fight the disease, and I myself will overcome difficulties and try to complete the assigned tasks at the Provincial Federation of Labor," said Ms. Nam.
As Lao Dong reported, in 2012, Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Nam and her husband divorced. For the past 12 years, she has been raising her daughter, Phung Tran Ha Vy (born in 2011), alone.
By December 2023, Vy had symptoms of pain near her left knee. After a medical examination, the doctors diagnosed her with a giant cell tumor and prescribed surgery to remove the tumor, biopsy, and bone grafting...
After the surgery, the doctors diagnosed Vy with bone cancer. In an effort to save her child, Ms. Nam transferred Vy from Dak Lak province to the Children's Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for chemotherapy.
However, this method is very expensive, beyond Ms. Nam's meager salary. According to Ms. Nam, from the beginning of 2024 until now, Vy has mainly been treated in the hospital.
"In total, my child has undergone 16 chemotherapy sessions, his health has declined, and his hair has fallen out. Since my child got sick, I have had to run around in many places, asking for support from friends, colleagues, and relatives to be able to afford the nearly 1 billion VND in hospital fees," Ms. Nam shared.
