Handing over the Union Shelter to a union member who lost his house to a fire

Can Tho - The Trade Union of Lac Ty II Company Limited presented the Trade Union Shelter to Ms. Do Minh Thu - a union member in difficulty who just lost her house due to a fire.

On the afternoon of July 15, the Trade Union of Lac Ty II Company Limited organized the handover of the Trade Union Shelter to union member Do Minh Thu in Truong Khanh 1 Hamlet, Thanh Hoa Commune, Can Tho City. Attending were Ms. Tran Tu Nhien - Vice President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - along with representatives of the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union and officers and employees of the company.

Ms. Do Minh Thu is a union member with especially difficult circumstances. His father suffered a minor stroke and is currently working for hire to make a living, his mother sells soft drinks in front of the house with an unstable income. In March 2025, the family's house unfortunately caught fire, burning all of their household items and assets.

In that situation, the Executive Board of the Company's Trade Union launched a fundraising campaign in the spirit of "The healthy leaves cover the torn leaves". The program received a positive response from all staff and workers, and raised more than 107 million VND. This money was used to rebuild a new house with an area of 5m x 27m, with a total cost of 180 million VND, the rest was supported by family and relatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Tu Nhien sent her condolences, encouragement and congratulations to Ms. Do Minh Thu and her family for a new, spacious home, creating a foundation to stabilize their lives. At the same time, she acknowledged the concern and efforts of the company's Trade Union in caring for union members' lives and suggested continuing to support and create conditions for Ms. Thu to work and produce with peace of mind.
