Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huong is in a particularly difficult situation as a single mother raising two daughters alone, the eldest of whom has Down syndrome. She herself is in poor health and often has to be treated for a long time in the hospital at an expensive cost. For more than 20 years, Ms. Huong has been a mother, a father, and a caregiver for her two children.
Having given her mother a small piece of land to stabilize her life, because of economic difficulties, Ms. Huong has not been able to build her dream house.
Thanks to the attention of the Hanoi City Labor Federation, the Cau Giay District Labor Federation has approved and supported the construction of a Trade Union Shelter for Ms. Huong with a total amount of 50 million VND. Of which, the City Labor Federation supported 40 million VND and the Cau Giay District Labor Federation supported 10 million VND.
After a period of construction, Ms. Huong's house was completed, with an area of nearly 60m2, designed with 2 bedrooms, 1 living room and a separate kitchen. The house is solidly built with reinforced concrete structure, brick walls, flat roof, and air.
Receiving support from trade unions at all levels, Ms. Huong shared that this is an extremely meaningful gift that she and her children have dreamed of for many years. She thanked the trade unions at all levels and her colleagues for always caring, encouraging, and helping.
"With this house, my parents and children have a solid support, my daughter has her own space to study and play. I promise to try harder at work, worthy of the affection that everyone has for my family" - Ms. Huong said.
