Affirming the leading position in the modern journalism industry
The period 2021 - 2025 and tasks for 2026 show that Lao Dong Newspaper has made strong progress. One of them is that in 5 years, officials and reporters have won 138 domestic press awards, 82 international photo awards; including 14 National Press Awards, 6 Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards, 2 Dien Hong Awards, 3 Anti-Corruption and Negative Phenomena Awards and 110 Ministry, Sector, and Local Press Awards. In the first 6 months of 2026, the Newspaper won the A Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, 4 National Press Awards (1 B Award, 3 C Awards), 3 International Photo Awards, 7 Ministry, Sector, and Local Press Awards. Lao Dong Newspaper is also a bright spot in digital transformation. From 2023 to now, the Newspaper has been continuously ranked as excellent, leading in digital transformation.
Regarding social activities, the Golden Heart Charity Fund has operated reputably and sustainably for the past 30 years (1996 - 2026) with many activities to help union members, workers, people in difficult circumstances and build many gratitude projects. Every year, the Newspaper organizes programs such as "Vietnam Glory", "Exemplary Enterprises for Workers". These programs have become reputable brands, contributing to enhancing the position of the Trade Union organization. In addition to performing well professional content, the Newspaper also completes important tasks assigned by the VGCL. In which, the Newspaper completes the task of upgrading and operating the Vietnam Trade Union Electronic Information Portal with 7 foreign languages (English, French, Russian, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Chinese) and an online legal consulting chatbot tool for workers using artificial intelligence technology.
In 2026, the goal of Lao Dong Newspaper is to continue to maintain its number 1 position in protecting the rights of workers. In particular, the newspaper has organized strong propaganda about the XI Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the XIV Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union and the Congress of socio-political organizations that are members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Assessing the efforts of the collective of Lao Dong Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Anh Tuan affirmed that Lao Dong Newspaper is one of the leading newspapers of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism, always maintaining its position and prestige, being the voice of the Trade Union organization and protecting and caring for union members and workers. The newspaper has many investigative articles on violations in the implementation of regimes and policies for workers. The newspaper has high professional quality, shown through press awards, especially prestigious awards. In addition, the Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also highly appreciated the fact that Lao Dong Newspaper is always a pioneer in digital transformation and implements the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus but still ensures professional quality. The activities behind the newspaper are effective, showing the efforts and dedication of the whole collective and have the power to move the whole society.
Will continue to spread examples in the emulation of good labor, high productivity
Immediately after the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued a Plan to organize the emulation movement "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income". This new emulation movement is built on the basis of the movement "Good Labor, Creative Labor". It can be clearly seen in the content of the movement that good labor includes creative labor but must be target-oriented - meaning creating high productivity so that workers have good income.
Emulation for good labor will create conditions for workers to emulate in studying, improving professional qualifications, vocational skills and digital skills; having ideas, proposals, initiatives, and technical solutions; proactively approaching and gradually mastering new technologies, modern equipment and advanced management methods in production and business, applying them to production labor, gradually improving work efficiency, and excellently completing assigned tasks. From there, achieving the goal of improving the quality of human resources, building a team of workers and laborers who are skilled in their profession, strong in expertise, meeting the development requirements of agencies, units, and enterprises; promoting technical improvement solutions, applying science and technology, automation, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
Emulation to improve labor productivity is for workers to emulate to promote intelligence and creativity, promote initiatives, proactively innovate working methods, improve working processes, production, and business, contributing to improving labor productivity in order to increase the quantity, quality and value benefiting from initiatives, contributing to improving the efficiency of using resources, promoting increased labor productivity and production and business efficiency.
With the content of emulation to improve income for workers, grassroots trade unions and employers should coordinate to implement solutions to improve the material, spiritual, income and welfare regimes for workers, to achieve the goal of improving income commensurate with labor productivity, work efficiency and ensuring welfare regimes for workers.
The emulation movement "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income" was launched associated with the "3 savings" campaign with the motto "Good Labor" is the foundation, "High Productivity" is the requirement, "Good Income" is the result to aim for. "3 savings" is the content of a new management method to increase value and enhance the competitiveness of the economy.
