Quang Ngai province currently has more than 7,000 businesses (DN) operating. According to Ms. Dinh Thi Tra - Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Ngai province, in the past time, occupational safety and health (ATVSLĐ) has had positive and comprehensive changes.
Employers are increasingly focusing on reporting occupational accidents, as well as reporting machinery at risk of unsafety according to regulations; and promptly handling arising incidents. Through regular propaganda and training, workers (NLĐ) have become more proactive in preventing accidents and occupational diseases. In addition, inspection and examination activities are implemented with focus, contributing to timely rectifying violations and improving discipline in law compliance.
At Dung Quat Oil Refinery managed and operated by Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (BSR), safety is identified as a "life-or-death order". Mr. Nguyen Quang Hung - Head of BSR's Environmental Safety Department said that with the specific nature of producing flammable and explosive products, even a small mistake can cause serious consequences for people, the environment and property. Therefore, ensuring factory safety is always put first.

The company has built a safety process management system. In which, focusing on early identification and remote prevention of hazards to control risks. After completing the process, all employees are periodically trained in safety with a duration of about 20 hours/person/year.
At the same time, BSR promotes building a safety culture through a safety behavior observation program. Each employee is not only responsible for their own safety but also proactively identifies dangers and proposes control solutions to ensure the safety of colleagues and factories.
The clear reward - discipline mechanism through green cards (individuals performing well), yellow cards (individuals performing poorly), red cards (individuals violating) has contributed to raising awareness of complying with regulations on OSH. "Thanks to synchronous solutions, Dung Quat Refinery operates safely and stably. To date, the factory has achieved more than 56 million safe hours, no workers have had labor accidents, lost working days, no fire and explosion incidents, no environmental incidents. The working environment at the factory is guaranteed to be absolutely safe, contributing to the development of BSR" - Mr. Hung added.
Similarly, at Toray International Vietnam Co., Ltd. - Quang Ngai Branch (VSIP Quang Ngai Industrial Park), OSH is identified as a key task. The enterprise boldly invests in synchronous protective equipment, from cutting knives, protective gloves to automatic cutting systems, with costs increasing 2-3 times compared to before.
In particular, the company has invested about 10 billion VND to install a fresh air filtration system, ensuring a ventilated working environment for more than 900 workers. Prioritizing resources for workers' safety and health has helped the enterprise maintain stable production and improve operational efficiency.
Mr. Dinh Quoc Tuan - Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial Labor Federation affirmed that putting labor safety first is a legal requirement and a commitment to ethics in production and business. When employees are comprehensively protected, labor relations will become increasingly harmonious and stable, creating a solid foundation in the socio-economic development of the province in the new period.
