Thanh Hoa - Due to not being paid some benefits, hundreds of workers have stopped working collectively to request the company to resolve the issue.

On January 21 and the morning of January 22, many workers of Van Ha Garment Company Limited (in Van Ha town, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province) stopped working collectively to demand their salary and bonus rights.

The workers said they stopped working because the company had not paid their December salary and 13th month bonus. In addition, the workers also requested to resolve the issue of workers owing social insurance payments for the past 15 months, causing employees to not receive maternity benefits as prescribed.

“Yesterday and today, about 200 to 300 workers stopped working and stood in front of the company gate. We are very upset, Tet is coming soon but the company still owes us bonuses. I gave birth to my child nearly 14 months ago, but I still haven’t received my maternity pay,” said Nguyen Thi Nga (worker at workshop 1, Van Ha Garment Company Ltd).
