Can Tho: 1,972 people receive unemployment benefits, 153 people receive vocational training support

With 1,972 workers being resolved to receive unemployment benefits, Can Tho continues to promote vocational training support to help them return to the labor market soon.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Sang - Deputy Director of the Can Tho City Employment Service Center (TTDVVL), the unit has just reported on the implementation of unemployment insurance in April 2026 (from April 1 to April 30, 2026).

During the month, 1,972 workers were resolved to receive unemployment benefits, of which 1,058 were women. The Center also supported training and improving professional skills for 153 workers participating in unemployment insurance, including 81 female workers.

In addition, the Center has consulted and introduced jobs to 11,854 turns of workers, of which women accounted for 7,122 turns. The number of people successfully introduced to jobs is 160 people, including 88 female workers.

Assessing the implementation of unemployment insurance policies, the Can Tho City Employment Service Center said that the receipt and settlement of dossiers for enjoying unemployment insurance benefits are carried out in accordance with current procedures and regulations. Employees submitting dossiers are fully consulted on unemployment insurance policies, job introductions and vocational training.

In April, the Center received 2,549 applications for unemployment benefits; has appraised and submitted decisions to receive unemployment benefits for 1,972 eligible applications.

Notably, 1,971/1,972 workers registered to receive unemployment benefits through bank accounts, reaching a rate of 99.95%.

The Center also uses the Zalo account OA "Can Tho Employment Service Center" to text workers to notify them of the deadline for receiving unemployment benefits.

In addition, the Center strengthens coordination with relevant units to update and share labor market information at home and abroad, expanding job opportunities for workers.

We identify counseling, job introduction and vocational training support as key tasks, helping workers quickly return to the labor market" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Sang emphasized.

According to the report, the Center continues to promote digital transformation, applying information technology in management and operation to optimize nghiệp vụ processes, shorten dossier processing time and create convenience for workers.

Regarding the direction for next month, according to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Sang, the unit will continue to maintain the receipt and settlement of unemployment insurance benefits dossiers in accordance with procedures and regulations, ensuring timeliness and full rights for employees.

At the same time, the unit will promote propaganda on unemployment insurance policies, vocational training and labor market information on social networking platforms; strengthen connections with recruiting businesses and vocational training institutions to support workers in choosing suitable jobs and returning to the labor market soon.

The Center will also closely coordinate with professional departments to effectively organize job transaction sessions, prioritizing supporting workers who are receiving unemployment benefits to find new jobs.

In addition, the unit proactively reviewed and compared data with the Can Tho City Social Insurance agency, and at the same time strengthened the work of recovering unemployment benefits enjoyed in violation of regulations (if any), ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
