This is one of the key projects in Can Tho City to celebrate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth.
The event marks an important step in the implementation of a 200MW wind power project with a total investment of about 9,139.5 billion VND. Thereby contributing to supplementing clean energy sources for the national power system and promoting the development of renewable energy infrastructure in the Mekong Delta region (Mekong Delta).
The 220kV substation item belongs to Phu Cuong 1A and 1B Wind Power Plant Clusters, implemented in Lai Hoa commune, Can Tho city. This is an important technical infrastructure item in the overall project, which plays a role in serving connection, transmission and operation of wind power sources after the project is implemented according to schedule.
Phu Cuong 1A and 1B wind power plant clusters are being deployed in the context of the increasingly urgent need for clean, stable and sustainable energy for socio-economic development. When completed, the project is expected to contribute to increasing electricity supply from renewable energy, supporting the goal of energy transition and improving the capacity of electricity infrastructure in the Southern region.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Vuong Quoc Nam informed that, located in the center of the Mekong Delta region, Can Tho is always aware of its role and mission in taking the lead in implementing the national strategic goals. Regarding the Phu Cuong 1A and 1B Wind Power Plant Complex Project, implemented by REE Energy Co., Ltd. The project started today is an important "link" in the journey to realize Vietnam's greenhouse gas emission commitments, promote green growth and sustainable energy transition.
When put into operation, the project will contribute to supplementing clean energy sources for the country, optimizing the local natural potential, creating jobs, increasing budget revenue and creating motivation for socio-economic development so that Can Tho can grow at double digits.
On behalf of the leaders of Can Tho, Mr. Nam requested the investor, contractor units and consultants to complete the project soon, ensuring progress and maximizing efficiency. Departments, agencies, branches and local authorities should closely coordinate with businesses.
