On May 19, in the joyful atmosphere of Workers' Month 2026, towards celebrating the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized a groundbreaking ceremony to build "Trade Union Homes" for union members in difficult housing circumstances.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Ngoc My - Vice President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation said that caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, especially union members in difficult housing circumstances, is always the central and consistent task of the Trade Union organization.

In recent years, the Trade Union Home program has become a deeply humane activity, showing the concern of the Trade Union organization for workers.
Through actual surveys, the family of Mr. Ly Hoang Nguyen (Vinh Phuoc ward), a member of the grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) of Soc Trang Urban Works Joint Stock Company, is facing many housing difficulties. The current house has seriously deteriorated, not ensuring safety, especially in the upcoming rainy and storm season.

From that reality, the City Labor Federation has considered supporting housing construction funds from the Trade Union's Golden Heart Charity Fund, to help families have conditions to stabilize their lives, feel secure in working and working.
Although the support fund is not too large, this is the affection, responsibility and sharing of the Trade Union organization for its union members. We hope that the new house will be a practical source of encouragement, adding faith and motivation for Mr. Nguyen's family to overcome difficulties and continue to strive to rise up in life," Ms. My shared.

Leaders of the City Labor Federation requested the construction unit to focus manpower and resources, ensure quality, technique and complete the project on schedule. At the same time, the grassroots trade union of Soc Trang Urban Works Joint Stock Company continues to care for and support the family during the construction process; solidarity, mutual support, and help with working days when necessary. Mr. Nguyen's family coordinates well with the construction unit to complete the project soon and put it into effective use.

Moved at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Ly Hoang Nguyen sent his thanks to the Can Tho City Labor Federation, the Board of Directors and the company's grassroots trade union for creating conditions for his family to have a new house. "This is a great joy and source of encouragement for my family. I will continue to try to work better to contribute to building the company to develop more and more," Mr. Nguyen expressed.
According to the plan, the house will be built with an area of about 60m2, with a total cost of more than 110 million VND. In which, the Branch of the Golden Heart Charity Fund in Can Tho supported 50 million VND.
The project is not only of social security significance but also a practical activity to respond to Workers' Month 2026 and achieve achievements to celebrate the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress.
