On the morning of May 20, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) coordinated with the Red Cross Society and the City Hematology - Blood Transfusion Hospital to organize the Voluntary Blood Donation Day program among union members and workers on the occasion of Workers' Month and in response to the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Tran Ngoc My - Vice Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - emphasized, we are very touched to see that from early morning, hundreds of brothers and sisters were present with a spirit of readiness and radiance. This shows that, despite the busy production and business situation, the spirit for the community of the Can Tho city working class is still always shining.

Mr. Do Van Hoan (48 years old) - union member of Co Do Agriculture Company - shared that each drop of blood given can save a person's life. Therefore, whenever communes, wards or grassroots trade unions mobilize blood donation, he actively participates with the desire to contribute a small part to help those in need of treatment.
I have participated in voluntary blood donation many times and am always ready to respond whenever there is an initiative. For me, blood donation is not only a humanitarian gesture but also a responsibility to share with the community, contributing to bringing life opportunities to patients who need blood for treatment," Mr. Hoan said happily.

Participating in blood donation for the first time, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Hien - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Policy and Law and Labor Relations Department of Can Tho City Labor Federation said that when she knew she was eligible and could donate, she was very happy and hoped that each person would contribute a little and more patients would be saved.

According to Ms. Hien, the voluntary blood donation program has profound humanitarian meaning, because it not only supports patients but also gives more life opportunities to many people.
