Bustling Tet markets at all levels of Trade Unions
After a week of organization, the National Trade Union Tet Market held in Hai Phong City welcomed more than 40,000 people and workers to visit and shop.
The Tet Market takes place from January 11 to 17 at the Vietnam-Czech Republic Friendship Cultural Palace with more than 200 commercial, culinary and handicraft booths. The booths sell quality products and goods at preferential prices of 10% or more... At the program, nearly 8,000 union members and workers in the city received shopping vouchers worth VND200,000 each.
For Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen - a worker in Duong Kinh district, in recent years, the Trade Union Tet market has been an activity she has always looked forward to. "At the end of the year, we are busy with work, so my husband and I do not have the conditions to go shopping much. So every time the City Trade Union organizes a Tet market, I take the opportunity to buy essential items for the whole family, from Tet ao dai to food such as bamboo shoots, vermicelli, sticky rice, candy... With the Trade Union Tet market, workers can shop with more peace of mind about the origin and price" - Ms. Yen said.
In addition to the large-scale national Tet market taking place at the Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, the city's Trade Unions at all levels also carry out activities such as Tet Sum Vay, Trade Union Tet Market... for workers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Chairwoman of Tien Lang District Labor Federation - said: "Following the success of the city's Trade Union Tet Market, the District Labor Federation also opened the Trade Union Tet Market within the framework of the Tet Sum Vay - Xuan On Party 2025 program taking place on January 19. The Tet Market has the participation of 10 booths, especially booths from grassroots trade unions and unions. Units give hundreds of 0 VND gifts to workers participating in the Tet Market".
Many activities to honor workers
During the Lunar New Year 2025, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation directed all levels of unions to focus on negotiating with employers to pay salaries, Tet bonuses, and 13th month salary bonuses to employees; and give more than 4,000 gifts to union members and employees in difficult circumstances. According to records, the average Lunar New Year bonus for employees is 8,620,000 VND, an increase of more than 120,000 VND compared to 2024.
Trade unions at all levels organized the programs "Trade Union Tet Market", "Tet Sum Vay - Spring of gratitude to the Party" in 2025 with many practical and effective activities for workers and laborers. On this occasion of Tet, Hai Phong City People's Committee spent 10 billion VND to give 5,000 gifts to laborers. Trade unions at all levels of the city coordinated with employers to pay Tet bonuses, use funds and union fees to take care of workers, especially workers in difficult circumstances with a total budget of over 1,850 billion VND.
Receiving benefits from the Trade Union, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (48 years old, a worker with a serious illness and difficult circumstances at Regina Miracle International Company Limited) was moved: "Every holiday and Tet, I receive attention and care from the Trade Union. This is a joy and a source of motivation for me to overcome my illness and rise up in life."
Along with activities to care for workers in difficult circumstances, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, many units and businesses dedicate activities to show gratitude and thank workers.
Ms. Dong Thi Phuong - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Aurora Vietnam Shoe Industry Co., Ltd. - said that at the Tet Sum vay program with activities to take care of the material and spiritual needs of employees, the company rewarded and expressed gratitude to groups and individuals with high achievements in labor production. Thereby, encouraging employees after a year of hard work, contributing to the development of the enterprise, encouraging employees to continue to work enthusiastically in production.
