In the last days of the year, Lang Son province is actively implementing activities to take care of Tet for workers.
The fire in early October 2024 burned down almost the entire factory and raw materials of DK Viet Nhat Electric Vehicle Company Limited (DK Bike, Hoang Dong Commune, Lang Son City), causing damage of more than 100 billion VND. Although the factory is still in the process of rebuilding and cannot be put into operation, it is expected that the Tet care for workers will still be implemented.
Speaking to reporters, Ms. Hoang Thi Hue - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of DK Viet Nhat Electric Vehicle Company Limited - shared: "The fire completely burned down the factory of more than 5,000 square meters, causing heavy property damage. According to preliminary statistics, about 3,000 finished electric vehicles and more than 2,000 electric motorbike components were burned, with estimated damage of more than 100 billion VND."
According to Ms. Hue, despite the difficulties, the company's management board still plans to have gifts to encourage workers. "Like every year, on the occasion of Tet, workers and employees will receive a Tet bonus of 1 month of their current salary along with many gifts for good production workers and workers in difficult circumstances. This year, in the face of the difficult situation, the employees are also very sympathetic to the company," Ms. Hue said.
At Bao Long Company Limited (Cao Loc district, Lang Son), according to the unit's leader, although the production and business situation in 2024 also faced many difficulties, the company still carefully planned for Tet preparations for workers and laborers.
Sharing with reporters, Ms. Dang Thi Quynh Huong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Bao Long Company Limited - said: "It is expected that the Tet bonus for workers this year will be the same as last year, about 3-4 million VND/person. In addition, the company also has gifts for workers with achievements or difficult circumstances."
The company currently has 120 workers, specializing in manufacturing water pumps and electric motors with an average salary of about 4-5 million VND/person.
Speaking with reporters, Ms. Be Thi Hoa - President of the Lang Son Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the Provincial Federation of Labor has issued a plan to take care of Tet for union members and workers in the area with many practical programs.
Accordingly, it is expected to organize the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang", visit, give gifts, and wish a happy New Year to union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year At Ty 2025, especially union members and workers who are still in difficulty, have low income, have serious illnesses, occupational diseases, have work accidents, are unemployed, have unpaid wages and bonuses, coordinate to implement the program "Union Tet Market 2025" and organize activities to celebrate Spring, welcome Tet, visit and encourage union members and workers.
According to Ms. Hoa, the Provincial Federation of Labor also directed its affiliated units to grasp the situation, inspect and supervise employers in paying salaries and bonuses to union members and workers during Tet; promptly detect and have solutions to ensure the rights of union members and workers in enterprises facing difficulties, unpaid salaries, unable to pay bonuses, business owners fleeing or dissolving or going bankrupt.
According to the Lang Son Provincial Federation of Labor, there are currently more than 42,000 union members in the province.
