Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Ms. Bui Huyen Mai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City; Mr. Duong Duc Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee... and 2,000 union members, workers, and laborers in the Capital.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation recalled the history of International Labor Day, affirming the milestone of May 1, 1886, when tens of thousands of workers took to the streets to strike, protest, and resolutely fight for the right to work 8 hours a day - not only of pure economic and social significance but also a historical turning point, marking the maturity of the international workers' movement.

In Vietnam, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and beloved President Ho Chi Minh, the working class soon absorbed and strongly promoted revolutionary traditions. International Labor Day May 1st is not only an occasion to show force but also a time to foster patriotism, the will to fight for national independence, build and protect the Fatherland," said Mr. Nguyen Van Thang.
According to Mr. Thang, entering the period of accelerating industrialization, modernization and deep international integration, the Vietnamese working class in general, and Hanoi workers in particular, are constantly growing in both quantity and quality. Up to now, the Hanoi working class is continuing to promote its role as the leading force in the cause of socio-economic development, contributing to building Hanoi to become increasingly civilized, modern, and happy.

In 2026, the Hanoi Labor Federation identified Workers' Month as a peak period with the motto of focusing on grassroots levels, putting workers at the center, and taking practical efficiency as a measure.
Accordingly, key city-level activities are deployed synchronously and practically, including: Coordinating with the City People's Committee to organize the Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health; promoting propaganda to raise awareness and responsibility of employers and employees in ensuring a safe working environment. Proposing to organize a dialogue conference between the Chairman of the City People's Committee and workers, creating a democratic forum to listen to thoughts and aspirations, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles from practice. Organizing practical care activities such as: visiting and giving gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, ensuring that 100% of workers injured in labor accidents and occupational diseases in the area are visited, encouraged, and supported. Organizing the commendation of 100 "Good Capital Workers", commending advanced examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style. Promoting the development of union members, establishing grassroots trade unions; organizing the "May Union Member Class".
Organize health care activities, especially health check-ups and reproductive health counseling for female workers. Launch typical projects and tasks to celebrate the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, celebrate important political events; promote patriotic emulation movements, especially the movement "Good Labor - Creative Labor", "Initiations in Capital Workers and Civil Servants", "High Productivity - Good Income"... Promote digital transformation in trade union activities, improve management efficiency, and care for union members.

Also in the program, the Hanoi Labor Federation presented 20 gifts to 20 workers in the Capital who unfortunately encountered labor accidents.
