On the morning of March 29, Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau - Head of the Propaganda and Support Department for Social Insurance participants of Hanoi City said that the unit has a plan to pay pensions and social insurance allowances to beneficiaries in April 2026.
Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau said that in the past time, Vietnam Social Security has directed the Hanoi City Social Security agency to directly transfer money to pay monthly pensions and social insurance allowances through personal accounts to beneficiaries on the 2nd working day of the month.
If in case the 2nd working day of the month coincides with a day off or holiday - the payment schedule will start from the 2nd working day after the day off or holiday. For those who receive pensions and social insurance allowances in cash, the social insurance agency coordinates with the Post Office to pay after the payment day through personal accounts.
Regarding the payment of pensions and social insurance allowances to beneficiaries in the Capital in April 2026, Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau informed: "According to the monthly pension and social insurance allowance payment schedule in the capital, which is the 2nd day, the Hanoi City Social Insurance Agency will pay beneficiaries through personal accounts on April 2nd (Thursday); for cash payments to beneficiaries, the Social Insurance Agency will coordinate with the Post Office to develop a timely payment plan for beneficiaries after April 2nd.
Representatives of Social Insurance provided additional information: The total number of people on the list to pay pensions and social insurance allowances for April 2026, phase 1, is 606,801 cases with a total amount of 4,199 billion VND. Among them, the number of people receiving through personal ATM accounts is 604,163 people (rate 99. 56%), with the amount: more than 4,158 billion VND.
It is known that before the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, Hanoi City Social Insurance has paid pensions and social insurance allowances for February and March together. In which, February pension: Has been paid to 607,462 people with a total amount of more than 4, 204 billion VND. March pension (phase 1): Has been paid to 607,443 cases with a total amount of 4, 158 billion VND.
The Hanoi City Social Insurance Agency has also made some notes on authorizing pension receipt according to the 2024 Social Insurance Law.
Accordingly, in order for the monthly pension and social insurance allowance payment to continue to take place smoothly, ensuring the smooth rights of beneficiaries when operating the local government at 2 levels and in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Social Insurance No. 41/2024/QH15 (Law on Social Insurance 2024) effective from July 1, 2025, beneficiaries need to pay attention to some changes regarding the authorization of receiving pensions and social insurance allowances as follows:
Regarding authorization to receive pensions and social insurance allowances: For cases of authorization to receive pensions, social insurance allowances and other regimes, the power of attorney is valid for a maximum of 12 months from the date of establishment of the authorization; The power of attorney must be certified according to the provisions of law on certification. "For the Power of Attorney issued according to the provisions of Law No. 58/2014/QH13 (Law on Social Insurance 2014), it must be implemented until the end of June 30, 2026. After July 1, 2026, the beneficiary must re-establish the authorization or carry out certification procedures in accordance with regulations in a timely manner to avoid interruption in receiving monthly pensions and social insurance allowances.
Periodically every year, social insurance benefits recipients through personal accounts opened at banks are responsible for coordinating with the social insurance agency or service organization authorized by the social insurance agency to verify information that meets the conditions for enjoying social insurance benefits according to regulations.
