As Lao Dong reported, Military Region 1 Command on March 27 just held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish the Northern Military Junior High School.
According to the orientation, the Northern Military Youth School under Military Region 1 will organize training for students according to the general education program. At the same time, integrate national defense and security education, physical training, life skills and organizational discipline.
On March 28, the Command of Military Region 7 organized a ceremony to announce the decision to establish the Southern Military School.
The Southern Military Junior High School is a unit directly under Military Region 7, located in Ben Dinh hamlet, Nhuan Duc commune, Ho Chi Minh City.
The school is staffed with 6 functional departments, 5 specialized faculties, 8 student management companies; a synchronous infrastructure system, including many classrooms, laboratories, sports training grounds, concentrated living areas, entertainment, ensuring long-term learning and training conditions for students.
Previously, on March 20, the Command of Military Region 5 also organized the announcement of the Decision of the Minister of National Defense on the establishment of the Central Military School.
The Central Military Junior High School is located in Group 4, Phu Binh Quarter, Quang Phu Ward, Da Nang City (formerly Tam Ky City, Quang Nam province). According to the plan, in September 2026, the school will hold the opening ceremony of the first course.
Up to now, schools are developing plans and estimating the specific number of students to be enrolled in the 2026-2027 school year.
According to information from the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, military junior high schools under Military Regions 1, 5 and 7 have the function of basic cultural education, high school according to the program of the Ministry of Education and Training; closely combining political education, military training, physical training and life skills.
This model also creates a source of future cadres for the Army and the country; caring for and supporting students who are children of ethnic minorities, policy beneficiaries, families with meritorious services to the revolution, and those in particularly difficult circumstances.
As in the North, according to Lieutenant General Le Van Huong - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, the establishment of the Northern Military Junior School contributes to building a specialized training model, combining cultural education with military training, thereby creating a high-quality human resource to serve the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
Meanwhile, in the South, the Southern Military School operates under a boarding model, strictly managing students in both study and living. Training the general education system from grades 6 to 12; training international students from grades 10 to 12.
Currently, the school's items and works are invested in and modernly built, ensuring learning, living, and training conditions for about 1,000 students. In the 2026 - 2027 school year, the School organizes training for 2 grades 6 with a total force of 100 students; in which Military Region 7 and Military Region 9, each unit selects 1 class of 50 students.
