On April 27, the Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation said that it had directed the trade unions of communes, wards and grassroots trade unions to strengthen propaganda and raise awareness for union members and workers about protecting and caring for children.
In which, special attention is paid to summer vacation when the risk of injury and drowning increases.
Accordingly, trade union levels focus on disseminating knowledge and skills to prevent and combat injuries and drowning; guiding first aid skills for children.
At the same time, mobilize families and communities to strengthen management, supervision, and ensure safety for children during summer vacation.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Huyen - Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation said that units coordinate with localities to promote propaganda on many channels such as websites, Zalo, fan pages, suitable for each area and target group.
The Provincial Labor Federation also requested grassroots trade unions to participate in monitoring the implementation of policies to protect children, and promptly propose solutions to prevent and minimize accidents, especially in areas with potential risks of drowning.
According to the Dak Lak Department of Health, from the beginning of 2026 to now, the whole province has recorded 14 drowning incidents, killing 18 children.
Faced with this situation, functional agencies recommend that parents play a key role in prevention; it is necessary to equip children with swimming skills, safety skills in the water environment and how to handle emergencies to limit risks.
