To date, the People's Public Security Trade Union has 11 grassroots trade unions assigned a number of tasks and powers of the trade union at the grassroots level and 95 grassroots trade unions with a total of 21,135 union members.
In recent times, the People's Union has effectively performed the function of caring for union members and workers, including organizing many welfare and social security programs for union members and workers in addition to the benefits enjoyed under the policy of the Ministry of Public Security such as: Organizing regular visits and supporting and supporting union members in difficulty and when affected by natural disasters and epidemics for more than 100,000 union members with a budget of more than 70 billion VND; supporting more than 200 "Union Shelters"; supporting thousands of livelihood models; supporting more than 10,000 cadres, soldiers, union members and workers with a loan from the CEP fund of over 500 billion VND; receiving nearly 500 "Union adoptive children", supporting care costs worth more than 5 billion VND; coordinating with partners to have many policies to improve working conditions, provide health care, give gifts to workers, support workers in other natural disasters, visiting and supporting workers with a budget of over 10,000 billion VND.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao - Head of the People's Public Security Trade Union - said that the Trade Union in the People's Public Security plays a particularly important role, creating motivation, encouragement, inspiring confidence, the will to overcome difficulties, and the determination to contribute of the Party Committee and employees.
In agencies, units, and enterprises, civil servants and employees are an important force to ensure technical and logistical conditions, and equip support vehicles to ensure the safety of officers and soldiers in the People's Public Security. This is an important force that directly researched and innovated science and technology, contributing to the digital transformation and modernization of the People's Public Security force, especially in projects on population data, issuing citizen identification cards, managing digital records, professional documents, designing infrastructure for public services... effectively serving the work of the people, bringing satisfaction to the people; contributing to saving and benefiting the State and the People's Public Security force thousands of billions of VND.
The People's Public Security Trade Union also plays a core role in implementing, mobilizing and organizing mass movements to participate in protecting national security such as: "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas", "All people's festival to protect national security", "All people's fire prevention and fighting day" ...; coordinate in disseminating the law to students, students, workers and vulnerable groups.
Many models and initiatives of the People's Public Security Trade Union have left a deep impression, bringing practical social effects, such as: "Security lock", "Propaganda of mobile law", "Warm Spring of the Border - Trade Union Charity Festival", "Union adoption"...
These social security activities not only spread the spirit of mutual love and support but also contributed to strengthening the close relationship between the police force and the people.
